Pokemon Trading Card Game

Experimental card type?

Attached are 4 examples of what I am dubbing Attribute Cards. The idea is supposed to represent the type of trainer you are and the inner abilities you possess as a trainer. As the game progresses, you gain access to attribute abilities you can use to hopefully change the tide of the battle in your favor.

The rules for Attribute cards are as follows:

  1. You can only have 1 for your deck. The Attribute Card does not count towards your 60 card deck limit and it is separate from your deck.

  2. To play your Attribute Card, you must reveal it at the beginning of the game after both players have drawn their cards but before prize cards are set. This is the only time Attribute Cards can be played.

  3. If you choose to play your Attribute Card, you will start the game with only 4 prize cards instead of 6.

  4. Attribute Cards may have abilities that you may activate by following the requirements on the card.

  5. Attribute Cards will have attribute abilities that cost a specific number of Attribute Counters to be spent to activate them (Cost is displayed on the right side of the card as shown). Attribute Cards gain 1 Attribute counter whenever any player picks up a prize card. These abilities can only be played during your turn before you attack.

  6. Attribute Cards cannot be removed and remain active until the end of the game.

— I would love to hear what you think. It's a fun idea that I've been experimenting with and hopefully a new way to shake up some play.
