I’ve been trying to track down exactly when Pocket Monsters Red & Green were officially revealed to the public (no one has it documented anywhere that I’ve seen) and so far I’ve traced it back to this issue of Famitsu that was released 2 weeks before Spaceworld ‘95 when the games were first demoed in Japan. The second magazine has their write up about the demo itself, published the week following Spaceworld.
Famitsu was the official publishing partner for Spaceworld and they had the first announcement of titles that would be on display (which is where the 1st image comes from).
The most interesting point is that both magazines feature the original December 21st 1995 release date, which would later be adjusted to February 27th 1996, and the first image doesn’t include Creatures Inc. on the copyright info.
