Starters for my new region!

These are my first drafts of my Fakemon for my region based off of the south fork of Long Island! Nothing is named yet lol

Grass (fairy) starter: based off of the extinct Carolina parakeet, this mon is supposed to represent upper class
Fire (dark) starter: based off the Chinese zodiac rat, this mon is supposed to represent the lower class
Water (Steel) starter: based off of a beaver, this Mon is supposed to represent the working class

I like to think my theme is clever but idk 😛 I love my grass starter, and love the look of both water and fire that I drew in pencil, but I am not in love with the idea of having two starters based off of rodents, but I genuinely cannot think of more fitting animals to go off of. I’d like to stick to the theme of having a zodiac for the fire, and some aquatic animal that can represent the working class for my water starter. The rat is perfect cuz I mean c’mon, ny sewer rats lmao. And the beaver is the official animal of ny. Also having massive trouble with their colors 😭
I’d really appreciate some suggestions and even design criticisms
