For context, Link’s Awakening Remake sold 141,375 copies first week in Japan

I’ve been enjoying the game. It feels fresh and charming, while keeping the regular Zelda feeling throughout. Hopefully we see more Zelda led games in the future.

A Tetra windwaker game would be amazing too.

  3. That’s actually shocking for what’s basically a spin-off. But people have been dying to play as Zelda so Nintendo did a smart move and actually gave people what they wanted, for once.

And it’s actually a ton of fun. Been putting in a lot of time on the weekends towards it and even put in some time after work, which I rarely do nowadays. I’m glad they left exploration a big part, there was a point where I ignored rifts, just unlocking more of the map and finding what I could.

  4. One of the best games I played all year, having a blast with it

  5. I want the zelda POV game for ocarina of time

I haven’t gotten the game yet, but I’m glad to hear it’s selling well. Hopefully this means we’ll get more games with Zelda as the main character in the future. Would love a game where we’d play as Sheik or something.

  7. Such a great game that’s a pleasure to play. It’s the first game in a long time that has kept me sucked in to the point where I don’t realize hours have passed while playing. It makes me really excited about the future of top down view 2D Zelda games!

I was one of these 200,121 as I picked it up in Osaka on release day during a trip!

Love this games graphics. Hope they keep using it.

This game is delightful, hope it gets a sequel (direct or spiritual) that builds on the gameplay ideas

I am halfway through the game and I am loving it

200k Copies in it’s first week in japan

The link’s awakening remake sold 141k in it’s first week
    So over a 40% boost

Switch also slaughtering in hardware sales

The 2015 tablet is still kicking ass

I’m having a blast with the game, but does anyone else think this game is a little easier than other Zelda games? I’m not complaining about the difficulty, it just felt different for me.

I remember having a dream shortly before they announced this game about an OoT midquel where you play as Sheik and the game is half LOZ, half Metal Gear Solid. EOW is like the opposite way of making a game where Zelda’s playable, and I’m so glad it exists.

I mean what’s their competition? It’s a new Zelda so it was bound to sell well.

I’m glad its doing well. I got it on release day and its creative, and cute and fun but also its soo easy, its a baby Zelda. With the succeas of this one, Im left hoping they make abother zelda protagonist gake that had harder dungeons like the Gameboy ones had !

  17. really hope this continues to do well so we

    1) keep getting more original 2D traditional zelda games (that aren’t a remake or based on A Link to the Past)

    2) hopefully get another game with Zelda as the focus ! give us a 3D game with her playable!

Been having a blast with the game as well!

The frame rate stutters are a little annoying, but am still playing through it. The smaller areas and dungeons don’t seem to hit as hard as running through Hyrule field.

Damn that one extra copy meant that made a difference 😂
Echoes of wisdom is my favourite game of the year so far

  20. Kougeru-Sama

Literally nothing else came out that week, to be fair.

  21. RedditPenguin02

I’m absolutely loving the game so far! I’m really hoping that this paves the way for more games like this in the future

  22. GoatGod997

Impressive number for sure but “the Zelda game that released was the best selling of the *whole week!*” is not a very shocking statement

When I was in Osaka last week the game almost soldout in the anime/game store I go through… You can only buy a bundle of the Zelda Echoes Lite + Game for 30k to 35k yen~ in Family Mart…

As a casual Zelda fan, I’m enjoying every minute of it so far. I’m at least 10 hours in and have only done 2 of the 8 dungeons. Massive for a Zelda game in this style. Also I totally feel like I’m playing a Zelda/Pokémon hybrid and it’s making me so happy. Just another reason to tell Gamefreak to actually get their asses in gear for once. ALSO is it just me or is the Gerudo dungeon theme an absolute banger? Been whistling it the last 2 days. Took my absolute time there just to hear the theme more. The music has been excellent.
