I didn’t realise how big of stakes they had in nintendo already. I thought I remembered something about nintendo trying to buy back more of their own stocks.

Imagine what they would do to peach if they could.

It’s funny because Nintendo does not even have a localized eshop for Saudi and neighboring countries.

Hopefully Nintendo finds a way to shut that down.

Ugh. Can Nintendo stop this? Is there any way?

Aligns quite well with the “East United” thing Eastern side of the world is doing lately.

    Nintendo should reject their money

The country has been heavily de-leveraging their financial dependence on petro in recent years. Lots of tech investment

Fuck the Saudis. They want to get their blood money on everything and own the world. They’re doing it with sports already and it’s disgusting.

I don’t care how much money Saudi Arabia spends trying to convince me otherwise, if this means not buying any more Nintendo, then so be it. Same with European soccer. SA can go fuck themselves.

Keep saudis out of Nintendo. Don’t need their influence being put into these games. Especially when a good portion of Nintendo is aimed at being accessible to younger aged kids.

So it‘s only Saudi Arabia or China. Great.

Inshallah the mushroom kingdom will convert 🙏

    Fuck Saudi Arabia.

Nintendo will lose my business if it allows this terroristic, regressive, anit-woman, anti-gay, anti-human regime to acquire more of its stock.

Ugh. Thank god Japan has laws preventing this ever becoming a takeover.

Having read the actual article, I don’t actually see any statements that the Saudis specifically want to increase their stake in Nintendo, only that they want to increase their investments into games and entertainment industries in general.

But even if they did specifically want to increase their Nintendo stake, it’s not gonna be enough to actually see any changes on our side of things. Saudi Arabia is not much of an activist investor in this kind of stuff, they seem to just want the money (because over-reliance on oil is a one-way ticket to vuvuzela jokes).

I hope not.. share holders ruin games imo and they are only for profit so it wouldn’t turn well

I hope that never happens. Inshallah.
