I think once this event en ends will have better luck, spawning the Galarian birds. So far on spawning are the event spawns from my daily incense, even on a new route.
I walked with daily incense active for 3 1/2 hours. Didn't see a single bird… also did two different new routes, one was 30 minutes long one was 20

Do you know if a route stays "new" if you just never complete it? I may need to create a route and test this out… If it becomes an "old" route as soon as you've started it though, I'm never going to be able to use the bonus. Can't go so far out of my way just to get some extra spawns.

I got all my G bird's, on the routes. So hopefully work for the shiny too.
Honestly? I’m still doing routes solely for the reason that when Niantic eventually releases Shiny Zygarde, I can have enough cells to have it go all the way instead of scrambling to get more cells again like everyone else will.

I got one spawn of a bird from routes
I was unfortunate having just started playing go on a new route with limited items and somehow got 3 throws with escape before fleeing after getting a g bird spawn. I knew routes boosted spawns somehow secretly but wasn't privy to new routes boosting them more. Thanks for researching into it and sharing. Hopefully luck prevails in using this information.
