Reggie Fils-Aimé regarding The Legend of Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom: If the developers did indeed reference the friendship between Mr. Iwata and me, I am incredibly touched.

I recommend everyone check out the book Ask Iwata, which is a huge collection of his writings and a few pieces from other coworkers like Reggie and Itoi.
And then follow that up by reading Reggie’s book, which is all about his career as a marketer, and his friendship with Iwata is heavily featured.
Both are really great.

“… When you go to the main watery area of Hyrule and meet the two versions of the Zora, which is in and of itself an Easter Egg, you’ll meet two characters named Inawa and Rogma, whose names are close to the Nintendo icons. This theory comes from The Gamer, and while it’s not a “perfect match” for the names, you can see where they’re coming from with this.
The point of these characters is that they’re trying to get their bosses to work together to save both of their domains and after meeting one another, they soon become best friends. That’s the kind of relationship that Satoru Iwata and Reggie Fils-Aime had as two heads of Nintendo. They came together to ensure that the company was working as best it could while also appealing to both the company’s investors and the numerous gamers who bought the games they made. …”

I feel like I frequently see people make comments like these, which actually mean, “Yes. I’ve seen the tweets. Quit tweeting me about it.” And yet obtuse people take it to mean, “Awwww. He’s touched!”

Unfortunately I don’t think this theory is true at all. Their names are anagrams of fish.
***Roguma*** (Rogma’s name in Japanese) is an anagram of *maguro*, which is a tuna.
***Inawa*** is an anagram of *iwana*, which is a trout.
Additionally it seems like ***Doraddo*** (Dradd’s name in Japanese) is another name for mahi-mahi, and ***Kusha*** (Kushara) is a darter fish?
Cool that Reggie was touched by the theory though

Impact of Iwata is really good too. I haven’t read Reggie Fils-Aimé’s book yet but I’ll check it out eventually. Like with video games my backlog of books is pretty big.
