Here is the Route 1 rodent Pokémon of the Lacha Region. They’re loosely based on the Pukwudgie, headgehogs, and porcupines. While doing research, I kept getting conflicting results if the Pukwudgie is Appalachian. But many creatures from different Native American cultures in the Appalachian region overlapped, so it seemed fitting to use them as a bases.
