I dont het what all the fuss is about.. they're not that big a deal as long as you have either 40 people willing to spend 500k dust or 10 people rocking 4 accounts each decked out in dust and candy and coins, some double digit dollars for gas to drive to play the eco game, then the cost of alcohol to drown your stress afterwards…
I cant stand the people claiming it's not that bad as long as you power your stuff up. Needing to drop 500k or more dust to build a new team is such an insult.
4 out of 7 Gmax raids I did ran
I used PGSharp to spoof on an alt account and used a lucky trade to launder one from Australia to my account lol. On campfire the only meetup was 2 hours away with 15 people and I couldn't justify that for a game.

That's frustrating to hear. Outside of my free Wooloo, I've not engaged in this system because it seemed like it would be a money and time sink… for nothing. I'm only playing about 10 minutes a day anymore because I'm just so disgusted with Niantic's decisions.
I wonder if it would have been better to stick with Dynamax fights, and then only introduce Gigantamax during Go Fest. Here's a once a year thing (more if you go to them all) where there are guarenteed to be hundreds of people. And for the weekend where it isn't in person, make remote raids possible
I see them everywhere amd there are stops and gyms all around but not many players. I stay on gyms months. I stayed in 1 nearly a year. There's little to no chance of getting a gmax. The same with shadow raids. Seems like those of us in the rural areas are just a bygone thought
it's not even about the rural problem. this is a whole "separate" system thing(quotations because it uses the same candies from the normal pokemon but cant be used in normal raids or pvp). to sum up this feature into 2 words… waste and nonsensical. you're catching another charmander or charizard or venusaur or blastoise and you're spending more to power up something that is useless and cant be used in normal raids or pvp and uses the same candies. they should've made it like mega evolution. I bet they came together and said something like, "we already emptied their wallets with the normal raids and pokemon and pvp and stuff… why dont we empty their bank accounts and have them spend double on this useless separate system thing"
Took an hour or two, but we beat a Charizard with 28 peeps … and it ran from me 🙃

Gutted for ya, Matt. I'm fortunate to have a Pogo ambassador in downtown Oly. He got a group of 50+ together and we marched all around downtown. Got 2 Char, 1 Venus and 1 Blast. Stoked you got the shiny Zorua though. Congratz.
Tbh, I personally don’t know anyone with a weak alt account. Everyone that I know who has one has been using an alt in case there are issues with the main account, or for extra assistance. That only works if the alt account is also fairly strong.
I live in a small town. This gigantimax content was dead before release
3* dynamax that could be done with 2 people was not fully maxed was enough this? Never gonna happen here

Venusaur is tanky, charizard is a lot easier to take down
18:48 what a coincidence. Just caught my 3rd Galarian bird today. Moltres, Articuno, and Shiny Articuno. Also, beat these raids today. Brother got shiny Charizard and Blastoise out of all the ones we did. I will say, the vid where you were fighting Venusaur was amazing. You guys did so well! I learned much from your vid, thank you!
Was waiting on this event to see whether I would buy a ticket for the wild area event. I’ve never not bought a ticket and am a day one player. But the wild area event, being focused on G-Max toxtricity, makes it a super easy nope for me. Honestly didn’t think I’d see the day where I’d stop putting money into this game; but here we are. Hopefully others will follow suit too.
Its sad as hell to be honest. Cause its true Niantic dont care about there small community people and rural players. I love Pokemon but Niantic is just ruining it for every Player thats ever enjoyed Pokemon go since Day 1.

I didnt even tried to make a group.. i enjoyed my week end and i dont regret to not having a stupid giga Pokemon with bad IV (i find them pretty ugly too)
That’s pretty brutal! I like your attitude for trying. I would say wait it out a few months like you said when you get better counters.
On Saturday morning… we 5 trainers (all level50) met and tried venuasur. We failed miserably. Then we heard need at least 20 trainers to beat. We stop trying and went to cafe for breakfast and never come back to try again. Gmax is just outof reached for us now.
i also gave up and shadow raids and now this, niantic really hate us rural players
wish i have gotten a shiny zorua since i have been hunting for it all week, but im glad i went to try and do the gigantamax battles even tho we couldnt defeat any with 25 account, because after i got home after that i got a shiny articuno in the first encounter of the day in my fire red
I don't think people want to power up three more kanto starters each which can dinamax then power up again three more kanto starters which can Gigantamax. It just feels like waste of resources.
I feel like we really needed some 5 star raid challenges that could be beat with 3-5 mid accounts so that we could make gmax happen with a dozen people. Any more than a dozen only happens on huge events where people are guaranteed 5 hours of good gameplay and shinies.
It just seems obvious to me that what they should do is have you go to a power spot with a gigantamax battle on it, join the lobby and then get matched online with other people wherever they are who are also at power spots with that same gigantamax pokemon at it. Niantic still get their location data to sell, which is what they want from making people go out in person, but it also doesn't disadvantage anyone whether becuase they are rural or socially anxious, ill and don't want to put others at risk, or just one of the vast majority that doesn't have a community where they can get 25 players together at a particular time and day.
Yeah really frustrating, we managed only 10 trainers on saturday, tried again on sunday even trying flares for over an hour, even less ppl showed up. More events like this show up the more i'm thinking of spoofing just to get the ones i like, like gengar, haven't caved in yet but it's getting tougher.
I don’t have anybody that plays Pogo any longer! My online is always on & I never get invites! Let alone meeting people in person to take down a elite raid.

It is hard to gather 30 players in medium cities too.. And I have problem with connection when max battle is starting – arena isn't loading. If something like that happens in smaller max battle I can try again. bur when cooperating in 30 person group it isn't an option. I commute to bigger city with bigger community but that was a weekend event ….
Another thought- I realized I can't gather enough people however there is plenty of powerstops nearby but ALL of them were occupied with G-max. So i couldn't even spend my max particles on D-max raids to get powerup worthy pokemon…
Only advantage in PoGo for rural players is Showcases…. if you have pokestops.

This is the week to start get your D Max/D Max powered up. I'm not doing a single D Max battle this week and going to power all my G Max up. Gonna slap Gengar on Halloween with my group.
They're going to update the game to rename it to "Pokémon GO move to New York to get anything done"

respect to you for trying! I myself was able to catch 5, and will trade the duplicates to people like you, people who deserved to catch one.
These are impossible for rural players. I don't feel guilty at all for not caring about this part of the game. I've played daily since the first week of the game's launch and will continue, but these battles are just going to be ignored.
If you want change don't spend money on the game until they make some changes. 4 player strategy based would be good

Another issue is people don’t just wanna build another Pokemon that they already have
Also you are limited on how many you can do because of the particles, and if you finish a fight and win you only get 8 balls, Blastoise ran from me, and other people lost some from them running
