I try to use unconventional teams for variety when replaying and always come away with an appreciation for lesser used Pokemon.
I just finished Colosseum with this team: Furret, Medicham, Ampharos, Octillery, Piloswine, and Magcargo.
Of all the games, Colosseum is the most likely to have an overlap with the fewest Pokemon options available. But I feel like this is an unconventional team because, while Ampharos may be popular, few people probably bothered to babysit Lv 20 Shadow Remoraid! Octillery really shined with type coverage because Gen 3 learnsets and Colosseum Tms are sparse.
Magcargo, unfortunately but expectedly, dragged. I should have had the foresight to pick Quilava for the Charcoal, but Magcargo didn't need the sp atk help but needed help with speed… and defenses… and typing.
I had a lot of fun romping through Colosseum again with this team. Has anyone used this team before?
What are some of your most unconventional teams that you enjoyed in any of the games?
Not necessarily bad, but maybe some interesting or underrated combos.
