Banjo Tooie and other Rare developed N64 games are some of the last remaining significant games not on the service yet. Nice to get more N64 games, but the pace has been really slow lately.

Oh speak of the devil, I was wondering where Banjo-Tooie was in a thread earlier this week!

Wonder if it will have the same frame rate issues that it did on the N64. It really pushed the system to its limit.

If you haven’t played it, the level design is a lot messier than Banjo-Kazooie but it could be Grant Kirkhope’s best soundtrack IMO.

    The Universe is healing itself.

    Let’s go!

I mean… I can play this on my phone at this point, but still… woooooooo! Lol

  5. Does everything on N64 NSO get widescreen mode or just this?

  6. radikraze

Welp time to buy the expansion pack again

  7. kuribosshoe0

Is it kinda weird to anyone else that the expansion pack includes three specific DLC packages that haven’t been updated since its inception? It seemed like a feature that would continue to be added to.

    This is awesome. Core memories.

I’ll say it once and I’ll say it again; Kirby Air ride would be an easy AF mobile game. One button and tilt controls. Done.

Finally!!! I wonder how long it’s gonna take till we get DK64

  10. BlueMooseOnFire

Will this version fix the performance issues?

  11. DoubleTastyMcBacon

That’s all good and all but where is our lord and saviour buck to the buck to the buck to the buck to the buck bumble???

  12. sludgezone

I love this game so much, maybe even more than the original.

Widescreen yeah what a load of shite, it’s just the same old fake widescreen nonsense. Instead of actually expanding the horizontal field of view like real widescreen, they just crop the top and bottom and call it a day. You’re still getting the same image stretched out like a bad Instagram filter.

would be cooler if they ported the HD editions same goes with the HD version of Perfect Dark.

    DK64s time is nigh

Maybe it will require an expansion pack and that’s what’s taking so long

About fucking time! Let’s fucking go!

Man, I wish they had the option to buy these games.

I would absolutely buy the Banjo games as a virtual console style one time purchase, just to show support for the franchise.

I already own both, so there’s no point in subscribing to Nintendo’s incomplete online for them, but I’d love to give money to Banjo games in the hopes that that will lead to more Banjo games.

Looks like I’m playing this game when it comes out. Never did back in the day.

Oh wow, been longing for this one but lost a bit of hope.

Tooie is a flawed, messy beast of a game… and I love it. It’s very different from the first one, it’s more of an adventure game than a platformer, but I loved unraveling those big, intricate levels. Those moments when things start to click together and you begin piling up the jiggies were so satisfying to me. If you haven’t played it, I say give it a chance if you’re patient. Not only because of the slower progress, you REALLY have to work for jiggies in this one, but because, unfortunately, it has its fair share of busywork and backtracking which could’ve easily been avoided with some adjustments. It’s not for everyone, surely. But ultimately, what it gets right made it a great game for me. I’ll play it again on NSO.

Finally..now is my redemption arc to 100% it

  22. blukirbi

    This is a nice surprise!

Here’s hoping for the other Rare games to come out (especially Diddy Kong Racing)

  23. sweatycat

I had Tooie on the N64, on Game Pass, on Rare Replay, purchased it on Xbox Live, and have emulated it, but am still glad it is playable on the Switch! One of my favorite games of all time and will still be playing it this way. Hoping for DK64 soon since that as well, despite having played it on the original hardware and emulated it, I do want to play on the Switch.

So many comments waiting for N64 games which has existed for a very long time. Just pair a controller to a PC and play it there. It can even be a very old PC, and you can connect it to a TV!

Remember: It is not piracy if you export the ROM from your already owned cartridge 😉

  25. bobvella

octo expansion looks different now that it’s not the latest splatoon and 3’s dlc isn’t included

  26. Single_Confidence472

this is my all time favorite n64 game.

  27. gman5852

    Neat.

I think that just leaves Smash 64, Diddy Kong Racing, and DK64 for me with N64

  28. Amazing_Signature_76

People are so psyched about racing Canary Mary again! Right?

  29. YosemiteHamsYT

You have been able to play this game flawlessly on nearly any phone or pc for the past decade btw

  30. Mannalyst

Any chance we get Milo’s Astro lanes if anyone knows..?

  31. YshtolaIsMyWaifu
