As someone who barely started playing for the first time in late September I can honestly say in my limited experience Pokemon Go is pretty repetitive and uneventful (no pun intended) without different community events and events period occurring.
EDIT: For the sake of clarity I LOVE playing PG and play on a daily basis. I just think the ticket events add so much more quality to the game playing experience and really give a glimpse into how amazing this game could truly be on the daily.

This raid day is only worth doing if u have an extra sologleo,lunala,or both
I started right after this event was ending so i didn't had a chance to play the event.

Isn’t this whole event pointless without Cosmogs? Ive only ever seen one and developed it into Solegaleo. Just shy on sun points so will do a couple so I can fuse it. But I have 20+ Necrozma. Without Cosmogs I can’t hope to get a Lunala to fuse it. Even though I have enough moon points. Please please please let us work or earn more Cosmogs.

I got a shiny dusk form rock ruff a month after go fest I was in shock
Still bitter about buying that ticket over the summer with supposed shiny boost doing 50 raids (literally) and not getting one shiny.
During go fest I got 7 shiny Necrozma, 3 with the background, and one of those was the FUNCTIONAL SHUNDO!
I evolved it into a double background Duskmane.
Also I’m so hype for them to come back now because I’m going to be in NYC that day!
Only gonna do 10 raids because I need dusk mane fusion energy other than that that's all I'm doing

I don't do GBL, just Raids.
I did get a shundo with the background, mixed with Solgaleo. Then I got a second shiny at 98, thanks to my GF for trading it to me and it getting lucky.
Sadly ill miss this event as i work Saturdays and i dont spend on remote raids.

I have 100% dusk mane "Roary", and 98% dawn wings "Alucard". I'd love another dusk mane that thing is a monster when raiding Pokémon week to steel. Makes 3 star look like 1 star! Just melts them. Would love a few of them. Let's hope the "young and old" event brings some cosmog.

I have Necrozma 100% IV shiny with background (not traded) from raids. But unfortunately I didn't have either Lunal or Solgaleo with their unique backgrounds.
