I finally beat Okami about 6-ish weeks ago after failing for 15 years and having purchased the damn game 3 times.
Every time I tried I would lose momentum at some point (usually about 2/3 of the way through), stop playing, then several months or a year or two later I would start over instead of pick up where I left off. This time I forced myself to continue a save I started in 2022
I’m buying this only once, and I’m gonna finish it before 2040

Reminder that Okami has some of the best 3D Rumble implementation of any 3rd party Switch game.

I loved playing Okami back in 2009. But trying to play it now… Well, it’s still beautiful, but it hasn’t aged gracefully for me, especially with regards to traversal and gameplay.

so I bought Okami for the Switch way back in like 2019. Played a few hours but just couldn’t get into it. Should I give it another shot? People really speak highly of the game, is that bc of nostalgia or is there something I am missing.

I bought the original for Switch. The gameplay felt too dated, I never got around to finishing it

Shouldn’t it be called Okami 3 instead? We did have a sequel on DS in 2010 called Okamiden.

I wish they wouldn’t announce games so damn early. The team that’s making this game hasn’t even been formed yet. This could be a Metroid Prime 4 fiasco all over again. Hopefully not, but it could be.

Well this is timely. Me and my Husband JUST beat Okami a few weeks ago. I’ve 100% the game on a few occasions, but this was his first time seeing it. I managed to see the Trailer pop up after I woke up from my nap. My first immediate question was “Do we finally get to go to the Celestial Plains with Ammy?”
I’ve been playing this game since it was on the PS2. I’ve since gotten this game on the Wii, Switch, PS3, PS4, and PC. Words fail to describe how much I love this game. Now to see this game is getting a sequel (Other than Okamiden which I’ve also beaten) it brings much joy to my heart.
