Today I clocked in for my shift at Target and noticed something very rare. A full display of S&V 151s. I was super excited to buy some, but had to wait until I went on my break due to the amount of work that needed to be done today. I was surprised that they weren’t sold out, but they were pretty hidden in an aisle. A little over an hour later, they were literally almost all gone. I’m working in the toy department, stocking, when I overhear a guest asking someone else where to find some Pokémon cards that they would like to give their kid as a gift. We usually sell out pretty fast so the only sets left were the more expensive ones, $50-$100. Since I had seen that there were a two 151 sets left, I wanted to save one for myself, but when I heard he wanted to give some to his kid, I had to help him out. By this time, the only sets left were the $21.99 Jumbo Zapdos set and an Alakazam Ex set. I told him that if his kid is a collector then he will definitely be excited to see this set that sells out really quick and has some sick cards. He thanked me and I told him how hopefully I’d be able to grab one on my next break, he joked around and said he would hide one for me. I told him that he didn’t have to, if it is sold out, no problem, I’d be okay knowing someone else will enjoy it. I continue to work when out of nowhere, the guest comes back and he hands me a bag, he had bought me the Alakazam Ex Set and said “Merry Christmas.” Dude, I couldn’t stop smiling and thanked him for his kindness. What a great guy, I hope to see him again. Looks like it paid off to be a helpful target worker.
