Of course it's nothing major at all, but I thought I'd share as it might be quite interesting, especially if viewed through the lens of a contemporary product seeping into mainstream awareness enough to be expected to be understood by a general audience like that.
Also it might be even more remarkable if you consider (and I know this might be well into overanalysing territory, just throwing it out there for the fun of it) that in this case he (or his writers) could've gone with "PlayStation" or "Xbox", two household names with a much more established name recognisability over the years than Nintendo's current console for obvious reasons.
Or, you know, a writer in the staff is just a Nintendo fan.
