Wind waker would make such a good movie- keeping it cell-shaded of course.

I’m so anxious to see how the live action legend of zelda movie is going to turn out…

  2. Requiem45

Writers who wrote movie for giant video game IP would like to write another movie for another giant video game IP

I am fan of the sonic movies. But a Zelda movie really wouldn’t benefit from nostalgia hits or pop culture references that make the sonic movies fun.

We don’t need Link in Times Square looking at a big ass Mario ad, gasping and about to speak only for a guy dressed in a Donkey Kong costume to toss a plush octorock at him for laughs.

Keep the story in Hyrule and leave the other stuff for the Smash movie.

Kind of a weird thing but I have always imagined that if we got a Windwaker movie/show the characters would have Scottish accents. Anyway I hope one day we get an animated movie based on it.

Sonic 3 was very faithful to SA2. I absolutely DESPISED the first 2 Sonic movies, but was completely blown away by the third one. The ending was so incredibly hype, and I love what they did with the Robotnicks.

All that to say, I would trust them with a Wind Waker movie tbh, as long as it is fully animated

  6. Fools_Parasite

Instead we’re getting a Zelda movie from the people who brought us Morbius, Madam Web, and Kraven.

  7. AbhorrantEmpress

I wouldn’t. I’d like a LoZ film to be more than just references and dangling keys.

  8. The_Nelman

Write me a Jet Set Radio 2D animated film. I think they can do that fine. Not well, but atleast it stands a chance for a greenlight I think

  9. Niobium_Sage

If the Zelda movie bombs, then maybe they’ll have a chance

  10. jam3sdub

I can’t think of a single Zelda game that would fit well in a 2 hour tops runtime.

So much doomposting in this thread about a hypothetical lol

Don’t worry guys, the Zelda movie Nintendo *actually* greenlit is in the safe hands of the guy who made such critical masterpieces as Morbius, Borderlands and Kraven. Given the choice, I’d take the Sonic guys a million times over lmfao

No thank you. The Sonic 3 movie is great, bit the writing isnt its strongest point.

    “Konichiwhatttt~” please god no

  13. Tha_Real_B_Sleazy

If they adapt any zelda I would like it to be Wind Waker.

The LoZ franchise is built in a way that the best choice for a movie would be an original story. Yet another incarnation of the hero and of godess Hylia, and you can throw in ganon/dorf or another villain, honestly writers can go wild. The lore of the games allows a movie to be original yet fit in the franchise as much as any game entry, and they can make it in a way that would make a good movie without relying on adapting a game (which is usually really hard to do)

  15. BaltSkigginsThe3rd

Same here. Doesn’t mean it’s going to happen lol.

Can we keep the Sonic movies writing the Sonic films? They are one of the main reasons why this franchise actually works.

  17. FaramirLovesEowyn

I would love this. They could even fluff it up I don’t care. I want a WindWaker movie!

  18. Eyeofthebear

Not sure if this is an unpopular option but I don’t feel like every good gaming IP needs to be turned into a movie or series.

That being said I did enjoy Arcane and Last of Us. I dunno maybe I’m still scarred from the 80, 90 adoptions.

  19. ssslitchey

The doomposting in this thread is so wierd. Sonic 3 is the highest rated videogame movie of all time on rotten tomatoes at 88%. Why would you not want the guys who just made the best videogame movie of all time to make a zelda film.

  20. Individualist13th

    Oh my god, please.

They responded to feedback, I would trust that team with any IP.

  21. SlippinSam

Honestly I’d be all for this. I haven’t seen Sonic 3 yet but so far heard that it’s a really good adaptation of Adventure 2. When an adaptation works it’s because the writers are passionate about the source material, and if these writers are passionate enough about Wind Waker to proclaim unprompted that they want to write an adaptation of it then I believe they have the love and respect for it to pull it off

  22. travelingWords

They would make it live action in New York City.

  23. djkhan23

I say let them have at it.

3 wins with Sonic so on with this.

  24. Player1-jay

The studio that did Arcane could pull it off

  25. KJBenson

    I see.

I can’t say I’d be excited to see Link show up in modern day New York and meet some busy lawyer who needs to learn the value of family.

But I’m sure some people would love that.
