While I grew up playing the main line games(first game was Red), I’ve never touched the spin offs. Ive been kinda burnt out replaying Crystal and Yellow recently, I still wanted a Pokemon game to play.
I started RRT and immediately fell in love. I love the sprites, the story and the different personalities each Pokemon has. I chose Skitty as my starter and Pikachu as my partner. My goal was to just beat the main game, but I was so enamored that I wanted to compete everything. If you’ve played a MD game before, you know the struggle. The struggle is especially real when it comes to recruiting Kecleon, Jirachi and Celebi
Celebi you have to clear a 99 floor dungeon with your Pokemon reset to level one and your items are taken from you upon entering
Jirachi is another 99 level floor, with a level one reset, but this time you have to beat Jirachi to recruit it
Kecleon… Brother I hated trying to recruit Kecleon. He shows up deep in certain dungeons with a shop and if you steal from him, all of his friends will show up and attack you. Infinitely. They’re all level 90 with great moves and the lowest catch rate of everyone. I was playing on an emulator and spent about 2+ hours soft resetting until he wanted to join my team
The four statues I earned came from doing missions. The Bonsly one you have to do all(23) dojo missions. Mime Jr and Weavile you have to do a mission that has the statue as a reward and the Lucario statue is given to you once you reach 15000 recruit points. You get points by doing missions, with the average mission giving about 100 points
This was a wonderful time, minus the Kecleon hunt, and highly recommend the game for anyone who hasn’t played it
