Play with docked for now, save up cash and replace the screen? Just be careful to not strip the screws taking them apart. Check out a youtube video 🙂

You can replace the screen pretty cheaply. It’s not very hard if you have any experience with such things. Lookup the YouTube videos first to see if you think you can manage it. The screen itself is very inexpensive and usually comes in a kit with most of what you need.
