Right joycon not connecting to switch in handheld mode π‘
Has anybody found a fix for this issue other than desyncing/resyncing your joycons to your switch?

Having the same issue from time to time. Would love to know why too…

Check the connector points for corrosion and dirt.

The connectors are probably dirty or damaged. Youβll either need to clean or replace the rails.

Check the rails and the lip of the joy-con at the part where they connect, you might find some corrosion or dirt thatβs stopping the connection

I have the same issue but I found a temporary fix that works for me at least. I pull it out from the console, press the button on the joycon to initiate pairing and then put it back in again and it connects.

Disconnect controller and then reconnect

Try resetting the joy con

My right joycon acts funky in handheld mode and I’ve cleaned the rails. The left joycon I had to replace the joystick from stick drift. The joycons are inferior hardware that Nintendo cooked up in a dank garage. Worst designed controller ever. N64 controller is more reliable π

Happened to me yesterday, Iβm thinking itβs a software issue. My switch is practically brand new, used maybe 10x
