Weird glitch happened.
I have been working on completing the national dex in pokemon Emerald. Through this process I have played five different games (Sapphire, Emerald, Coloseum, Fire Red, XD). I just wrapped up XD and was working on evolving my Shiftry when the game black screened then showed a bunch of weird pixels during the evo. I panicked thinking my game froze or bugged but after the evo it went to the overworld like nothing happened.
I went to check my pc, lo and behold I had a bad egg that replaced my Arcanine caught from Pokemon XD and also the Nosepass I caught from Pokemon XD. Also all the pokemon between them got completely deleted (Rest in peace nosepass). Anyways I'm kind of freaking out and don't know what to do. I want to preface that I have not once used cheats or glitches to try anything in any of the save files. I wanted to complete the National Dex in the most genuine way possible.
Can anyone shed any light on what might have happened? Should I backup my save file to prevent any further corruption? Like I'm really freaking out right now.
Also on a weird note both eggs have pokerus which is interesting.
