Durant
The infected Ant Pokémon
Scientists have been unable to agree on whether or not this form of Durant can actually be considered a regional variant of it's typical self or not. This is because the only notable differences are the presence of small mushrooms along their bodies, their pinsirs appearing stuck in an open position and their base stats are significantly lower than it's Unovan counterpart. Both variants even boast identical Steel and Bug typing.
Tocholony

Unable to decide whether the Durant these pokémon evolve from are, in fact, regional variants, it has become clear that they are all infected by Tochukasu- the very same parasite that inhabits Paras and Parasect in other parts of the world. However, this discovery has raised the question; is Tocholony an evolution of Durant or of the parasites they host?
Originally, Tocholony evolved from a regular Durant. I thought there was something fun about a regional variant not changing type, but changing it's utility in battle. Tocholony would have higher stats than trad Durant, but the way it's split would basically reverse- giving it huge HP, SpA and SpD, with abysmal Atk, Def and Speed
