hopefully not, sony’s been sending out straight 0 games this gen and the ps5 is a shitter

  2. I do not care enough to pay for Bloomberg

The gist is that the Switch 2 is a safe upgrade from the Switch, not a new gimmick console like Nintendo is famous for with its home systems.

can we make it a rule to ban posts that link to Bloomberg and other paywall articles

  5. So the company behind SNES, GBC, GBA, 3DS, WiiU is taking a page out of Sony’s playbook for doing a console iteration / sequel?

  6. BSJeebus

Did people just magically forget that Nintendo had a 20-year track record of iteration before the DS and Wii popped up?

Poor iteration, innovation’s much maligned brother.

imagine having a paywall for garbage like this

  9. From the article

    >The first official Switch 2 teaser last week showed Nintendo Co. taking the PlayStation’s approach to upgrades: more reconfiguration than outright reinvention.

    >That’s atypical for Nintendo, a company known for making bold changes with each generation and defining new ways for us to play and interact. In the past, its ambition has delivered successes like the Wii, which redefined living room entertainment globally, and misfires like the Nintendo 3DS.

I don’t think this is really a good point tbh. Also calling the 3DS a misfire when it’s the 12th best selling console “family” I think is a bit of a stretch. I guess they mean because it only sold like half as much as the DS

We know next to nothing about this system.
