I’ve basically always been able to come up with a name for all my fakemons (all except one line), but man these guys have me extremely stumped. I’ve racked my brain for hours and can’t settle on anything, so I’ll provide info on each stage and hopefully I can finally settle on names for these guys:
First stage: This little guy is based off the silky anteater (aka pygmy anteater). Instead of living in trees, these guys live in beautiful gemstone caverns. They are able to climb walls and ceilings with the help of their front claws and tail claw. The reason they climb the walls and ceiling in the first place is to be able to reach all the gems in the walls of the cave. They keep the gems clean by taking them out of the walls, washing them in pools of water from above by clinging onto stalactites with their tail, and then use their sticky saliva to place the gems back in place. The saliva also is what helps keep the geode helmet on them stay in place. They wear this geode helmet not just in case they accidentally fall from high up, but they believe in the healing properties of gemstones, and wear whatever type of geode they believe benefits them the most
Second stage: This guy is based off of both the giant anteater, and giant ground sloth. They have lost their claw tail in exchange for a crystal on the end of their tail to help them see in the dark. This allows them to be able to work in any dark place, help them find food, and most importantly find any predators like the gem-loving Sableye lurking in the shadows. These guys are also very large compared to their pre-evo, in order to help defend the gemstone caverns. They are also extremely docile and calm, very friendly creatures, unless provoked. If they catch anyone trying to steal their precious gems and crystals they work so hard to keep as pristine as possible, they are a force to be reckoned with. Also since they lost their claw tail, they can no longer climb walls, and instead clean the giant crystals that form on the ground instead. They also are the main food providers for them and their group. They use their sharp claws to dig underground to find food for them and their pre-evo’s (thinking of making a rival for this line like heatmor and durant or zangoose and seviper).
General info for both: the reason they are pure fairy and not fairy/rock is because they love gems, rather than being actual gems themselves. Yes the final has a crystal on its tail, but Sableye has gems all over it and isn’t rock so these guys don’t have to be either. I also would prefer if anything gem related wasn’t in their names, otherwise it may make them sound like they are made of gems themselves. Ideally their names would involve something like their size, their love for gems and crystals and the healing properties they provide, and maybe even their calm and friendly personalities
