Bargain if true.
Anders04
I could see it at 399.99. I would absolutely be shocked if it was 299.99.
ReSpecMePodcast
That seems way too cheap
TheExile285
Under $400 would be amazing as long as the specs don’t suffer too drastically.
Randommer_Of_Inserts
So $399,99? Got it.
Sylvaneri011
I suspect it’ll be between 399 and 499. Leaning more towards 399
DangerDaveOG
$379
jjmawaken
If it’s more than $450 I don’t know if I’ll be getting it or not.
Lower_Monk6577
Call me crazy, but the random website from Italy probably doesn’t have official information.
ParadoxNowish
Sure, one penny below
SmokedUp_Corgi
I keep saying $349 and I will stand by that.
Flat_Tire_Rider
I thought it was going to be $500+ first born child. I’d much rather it be below $400 and the child of my choosing.
MsHelvetica

Would this mean it could be released soon?
RockstarSuicide
Honestly it should be a loss leader and make money on game sales. It’s not like they EVER put first party titles on sale so it makes back the money
Luck88
I got a preorder from a minor but reliable store here in Europe and they took a limited quantity of preorders for 365€. They are known to have quite aggressive pricing, so I expect the retail price to be 400€/430€
ZenkaiZ
:runs into thread: SO IT’LL BE 399.99 THEN….. ah fuck I’m late.
Mamrocha
So $350 USD would still be $500 CAD before tax 🫠
Dubiono
I am not letting this color my thoughts on the price. I’ll work with 400 and let whatever comes surprise me from there.
Beautiful-Good-4575
If it’s 299.99 that would be amazing but I’m not expecting it.
SubjectCraft8475
It needs to be 350 same price Switch OLED launched for. However if they atleast provide 256gb internal memory then I can see it at 400. Considering many games on PS4 have been 150gb i think Nintendo should allow at the elastic 256gb internal memory so all games can ge downloaded without a need of a SD card.
NecessaryUnusual2059
I’ll be shocked if it’s less than 399.99, and it’ll probably be more in the US if Trump enacts his tariffs.
MatsGry
Imagine a $299 system that is well stocked on release! Nintendo can sell hundreds of billions. A switch 2 in every room in every house in every country in the world!
dausone
I could see the switch 2 being priced at 349.99 taking OLEDS spot. OLED Switch 1 knocked down to 299.99. Switch 1 – 249.99….
This would follow the same strategy that most phone manufacturers follow in their tiers for model ‘new’ vs model ‘previous’.
I would also venture to guess there will be a Switch 2 “Pro” (similar to the OLED bump) mid cycle priced around 399.99 before 3 comes out. Doing this would allow Nintendo to keep increasing the price of the new model slowly with each iteration, again following most phone manufacturer formats for pricing.
rusty022
Did people really think it would be ***above*** $400? I don’t think Nintendo wants to go above $400, and I’m guessing more like $349 with an eventually $399 or $449 OLED and $249 or $299 Lite.
Base model over $400 just doesn’t sound like Nintendo.
Sutefano_P
That website, LMAO
for those who don’t know, [gamesandmovies.it](http://gamesandmovies.it) is infamous in Italy for selling games at a **suspiciously** low price at launch, with an English cover, and therefore are not meant for the Italian market.
Also, they allow pre-orders of games that **literally** do not exist and have not ever been announced, like [TLOU 3](https://imgur.com/OJZ4ViD) or [Persona 6](https://imgur.com/496hrN2). They are **technically** not a scam, since a lot of people have received legit stuff, but it feels like they rely on a weird pyramid scheme to survive.
So, please do not take any of their posts seriously. They are likely just trying to make some early money from people who can’t wait to give away their wallets. I cannot believe that someone even wrote an article about them…
Andrecidueye
399 is already a take my money moment.
Fayyntin
I’m italian and i know the site. They put placeholder prices and probably don’t pay VAT or find some kind of offer where they buy games in block at a low price.
Here new gen games costs 80€ (85$) and they sell them in preorder for like 40/50€ (42/52$). I buy physical only from them but those are NOT the real prices.
For example: i bought Resident evil 4 and dead Island 2 for like 40€ each and they came with poland and spanish cover.
Powerful_Artist
399, sure.
At minimum 350. No way its less
NothingToAddHere123
$399 sounds about right.
Thick-Wolverine6259
Is anyone else really annoyed at these articles?
I keep seeing wildly different leaked prices and I swear every single one is meaningless to me as a result.
I freaking hate leaks.

Nobody know anything about nintendo switch 2 price at the moment

Gta6 confirmed not on switch

Getting this on launch. Been playing any and all Mario since the NES, and will continue to for the foreseeable future.

Pricing it at $400+ just doesn’t fit how Nintendo does things. And the circumstances around this particular release are especially unique.
* They have to price it to sell. If the Switch is available on the same shelf right next to it for $50-100 less, and plays 90% of the same games and has a better screen, Switch 2 won’t sell. And even if they discontinue the Switch on day one, retail stock is going to sit there next to the Switch 2 for a while. Launch-day perceptions can haunt a console for *years*. Look at the 3DS. It never quite shook that “too expensive, just buy a DSi for cheaper” reputation it launched with. Nintendo will want to avoid that situation with the Switch 2.
* They have to price it to meet expectations. It’s not going to compete with a PS5 on graphics. And you can get a PS5 for under $500 on Amazon. The closer they creep to that limit, the less likely it will sell.
* They’re going to discontinue the Switch anyway. It doesn’t matter how much they differentiate on price. Signalling that this is “better” by giving it a $50-100 price bump isn’t going to increase sales. Slotting it in as a *direct replacement* of the existing Switch will tell people “go ahead, you can trust us, we’re not dropping support for this one anytime soon”. I predict the existing Switch will get a price drop to clear it from the retail channel once it’s officially discontinued.
* Relatively speaking, Switch 2 is even older tech than the Switch was at launch. The Switch was late-2014 tech launched in early 2017. The Switch 2 is, by all accounts, early-2021 tech launching in early 2025. This should keep costs down enough to allow it to launch at the same price as the current model. And that lower price should mitigate some of the noise coming from the “nintendo graphics bad reeeeee” people.
I expect we’ll see the Switch 2 at a drop-in-replacement price. Gut feeling is $350, and the OLED Switch goes to $320, OG Switch drops to $260, and the Lite drops to $170. (Look at their refurbished prices on the official Nintendo storefront…)
CabNoble
I don’t have any interest in a switch 2, but gosh for $300 I’d almost convince myself I need it. $300 in todays market just seems insane unless there is something really faulty about it we aren’t aware of.
garliclord
Oh my god. It SURFACES and IT COULD BE. Great journalism!
Jonesdeclectice
Yeah, $400 in American. That’s like… CA$575, nearly $650 after taxes
HumanPerson1089
If they made it as cheap as possible, they would sell like hotcakes.
They’re already super popular, but people are being squeezed by everything these days. Everything is too expensive. Any company that makes a decent product and sells for less than expected will absolutely kill it.

<cross fingers>
At least it’s not 599 US dollars.

Honestly I’m going into it expecting 450 so I’ll be happy if it’s 400 and ecstatic anything below that
