Worth it in this new offline state? How does it compare to proper AC?

Im not really an animal crossing guy, but this complete version hit me pretty hard. The small drip of dopamine you usually get from a live service game feels like it’s instead flowing like a waterfall. There’s tons of content and constantly meters and numbers going up everywhere you look. Plus, the game hands you “the premium currency” with both fists. It’s worth having on your phone to mess around with.

This game is surprisingly fun and I have been hooked for a month.

Thanks for the reminder, I’ve been in the fence

I don’t mind paying an extra €10 if I ever get it in the future, but will my savegame still be there? I recall there being something to note about save transfers during the first month

Is there any content exclusive to iOS vs Android, or does it generally get more updates on one platform vs the other?

I had some Google Play credit to use, so I thought I’d bite.
Didn’t play the original much since I’m not really a fan of microtransaction-heavy mobile games. But this new version has been really fun so far, and there’s quite a bit to do. There’s still progression, but completing various goals will generously dish out tokens which you can use to buy event/special items (and there’s a *ton* of them) or just speed things up. I think they’ve balanced it pretty well.
It’s cool that they made this version instead of just shutting the game down forever. Some of the items are better than what we get in the mainline games, and the villagers actually have their own unique lore/scenarios.
