If I want to guess what the franchise will be it’ll probably be Zelda related

  2. ReturnOfTheFrickinG

Why is this unsurprising? Most of them have underperformed.

  3. Jimbuscus

GBA style Pokémon would work very well on phones.

  4. Jaden14541

I hope they bring something like Miitomo back, that app was so good

  5. indielist

Maybe a miitomo thing that integrates into the miitomo on switch 2. With new and exciting ways to street pass and share miis.

I mean, it honestly IS surprising.

Keep in mind, Dragalia Lost, Miitomo, and Dr. Mario World are now offline completely.

Mario Kart Tour and Super Mario Run are technically still around, but both are no longer receiving new content. Tour is just recycling its old content again and again every two weeks.

Only Fire Emblem Heroes is still active and receiving new content.

So yea, it is surprising that Nintendo is continuing mobile game development.

  7. if it aint dragalia lost2 i dont want it, fam
i will never forget, i will never forgive

To give those mobile gamers a taste Nintendo high quality games.

Please be Metroid or Splatoon related 🙏🏻

Animal Crossing: Pocket Camp is nice now that its a paid app without all the gatcha.

I don’t count Pokémon GO, TCGP or Pikmin Bloom because they were made by others, but I love these games.

I only play Nintendo games on my phone, surprisingly nothing else on the App Store caught my attention, Tapped Out was the exception since it was launched in 2012 as a big Simpsons fan (And it was discontinued last month…)

It is actually pretty surprising to me. We haven’t had any mobile releases from them since what, Pikmin Bloom four years ago? I just assumed they were winding down their partnerships for mobile games and calling the whole thing a wash.

I genuinely don’t understand why Fire Emblem Heroes made so much money considering how niche Fire Emblem is

  12. The Rocket Barrel levels from the modern DK games would work great on a touch screen.

NINTENDOGS AR GAME, PLEASE FOR THE LOVE OF PRINTING MONEY DO IT NINTENDO AND MY BANK ACCOUNT WILL BE YOURS AGAIN

  14. Mobile feels like a good home for WarioWare. Would also make room for Wario Land to return on consoles.

As long as they keep the microtransactions and other predatory mechanics out of their console releases I say let them eat their heart out on mobile.

Considering the last new mobile app with Nintendo IP was in 2021 and the last one developed with DeNA was in 2019, and since launching the first mobile app they’ve shut down 3 of them, the fact Nintendo is still developing mobile software is actually kinda surprising.

  17. MarcsterS

Unsurprisingly? Most of their mobile games ended support. It felt like once the Switch was a secured success, they didn’t really need to support any of the games not actively making money. I can’t really think of any other games they could make, besides say Super Mario Run 2.

  18. thunderclan44

Very surprising to me, really the only thing they’re doing anything with is Mario Run and maybe fire emblem game but I never played that one.

  19. YungSquawla

been saying this forever; since nintendo has such an issue with rereleasing old games and emulating them, why do they not just release old games in a mobile app format? i’d much rather pay for games, with reasonable prices and modern emulation features such as save states, than have to go through the legally gray process of emulation which only recently became very easy on ios.

Why would they get rid of ACPC then do this 😒

  21. I wish Nintendo had brought games/franchises that were big on the ds/3ds that made good use of that touch screen/mic/camera functions. Games that maybe made more sense on a portable size than the tablet/switch size. Nintendogs on mobile would have been huge, warioware, rhythm heaven, elite beat agents, brain age, face raiders, tomodachi, mario vs donkey kong, style savvy,

I dont think Nintendo wanted to fully immerse in the mobile game environment or maybe they didn’t have the vision, but we’ll see what they create I guess

I mean it is kinda surprising since the abruptly stopped for awhile when a Zelda app was being worked on but ig they’re bringing it back maybe they could revive the apps they shut down idk
