Unpopular opinion : this set is rough, some decent artwork, but good lord the pull rated are atrocious. I’ll be pivoting to prepping for Team Rocket
r/PokemonTCG is a very, very, *very* tiny fraction of the population of people who buy the TCG. You’re preaching to the choir, my dude.
Problem is the more that people post stuff like this and keep attention on Prismatic, the more scalpers will be buying it up.
They pay attention to the hype and could care less what people think of them.
The real problem is Pokemon Company, not even resellers at this point. The output is so bad, when they know demand is sky high, that even distributors are jacking up prices
Wtf surprise boxes are 29.99??? every store i’ve been to has them for $89.99 CAD, fb marketplace is closer to $100

I went to Target, Walmart and Fantasy Shop yesterday. None of them have booster packs. I just wanted a booster pack or two for the fun of it…
Remember when it was like oh yeah there are 150 of them and like you could get anyone of them and a bunch of energies in every pack! I miss when it was actually fun and not some gimmick.
Someone has the tins on Facebook here for $45 cad each. Yeah, fuck no. Just let us enjoy our hobby!

This is just like video games problem with microtransactions.. We as the majority have no control compared to the Top 10% of spenders.. As long as they are buying still, the prices are valid to these asshat scalpers.
My LCS charging $50 CAD for those 2-pack tins 🙃
They have Blooming Waters for $150, which is even more expensive than the Costco scalpers were selling it for.
Some shops were doing the reasonable thing of selling at MSRP and unsealing right at the counter, or leaving sealed at scalper prices to discourage scalping. Unfortunately, none of these shops are near me.

i have yet to see a single pack. i have even been struggling with surging sparks. I’ve seen a total of 4 surging sparks packs on shelf since october

Just went to my LCS and they we’re selling ETB’s for $105 a piece… Literally didn’t say a word and walked out.
There was a game card store that had the prismatic etb. A young kid bought one and it was $120. I felt gross having to see that

Listen to the advice. Don’t pay scalper prices, be patient and don’t suffer from fomo. Make the a holes that buy up sealed product sweat, completely worried they’ll lose on their investment. You will see the prices drop. Simple supply and demand folks
Maybe if buyers would stop emptying the shelves as soon as it restocks, the prices might settle down some.
Everywhere I go shelves are emptied out. I see videos and groups posting of “restock” dates so they can go clean out a store the second it’s on shelves.
Sometimes there’s just empty packaging left because people would rather steal it than pay for it.
With that kind of demand, the sellers can charge whatever they want knowing the buyer will buy it. Knowing that, distributors can charge sellers more because they know the buyers will pay more. Scalpers are for sure a problem, but nobody would be able to charge extra if nobody paid extra. Since that won’t change anytime soon though, we are just out of luck
It was so fun when I got back into tcg during SV151. Always in stock, never felt the need to hoard product. Would just stop by a retail store when I felt like it and pick up some cards. Obviously it’s nice to land a chase and have something valuable. But scalping and people buying up everything has ruined this community. It’s a shame but at least I’m saving money.
