I recently went on a trip with my fiancée and a befriended pair to New York. We live in Germany and stayed their over the Birthday of my Friends wife.
I am not into collecting Pokémon cards anymore, but I have been collecting since 1999 and still have some old cards at home, mainly from the base set and fossil, jungle and fossil. Surging sparks literally sparked my interest as I always loved Pikachu when I was younger and I had a little plush Pikachu which I absolutely adored.
My friend collects Magic cards and I told him that I had seen this Poke Store in NY called Poke Court. On the last day of the Trip, we went there and they had three booster boxes of SS, for the hefty price of 280 USD which they justified by saying that otherwise scalpers would buy their store empty. I bought it anyways and brought it home with me in a red target bag in the plane. I was certain I had lost my money because I knew the odds of pulling the SIR Pikachu are 1/970 Boosters, but we opened it for the fun of it.
Below is a picture of our pulls. I couldn’t believe it but I got it on the 7th Booster! I love this card, and I especially love the artwork on the Phanpy and the Slakoth. As I am not an expert in this field – do you think the IRs will appreciate over time and if yes, do they do better of graded PSA9+?
