Nintendo didn't mention this on the announcement nor any Treehouse footage I can find, so this nifty little add may have missed many people's radar as it did mine, but it's listed on the game pages for The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild – Nintendo Switch 2 Edition and The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom – Nintendo Switch 2 Edition.

I mean ok. It’s ridiculous not to have that standard in every game
It’s mentioned in the game trailers for them (not the direct version – the individual video for them on Nintendo’s YouTube)
Only two save files?
Now, what about TOTK Master Mode? That might actually make the upgrade worth it
TWO SAVE SLOTS
NOW THIS IS NEXT-GEN
The price increase makes sense now. Thanks Nintendo!
YOU CANT DO THAT ON A SWITCH 1
You can create a second profile on Switch 1 for the same result. But now we don’t need to jump unnecessary hoops just to start another file (Same as Xenoblade Chronicles X that had a single save file on Wii U).
Gimme some dlc and maybe I would consider rebuying
It’s amazing that you can’t do that on the Switch 1.
I want master mode tbh
I’m not cheering them for this, multiple save file have been a basic feature of nearly every game in the last 20 years. It was downright moronic to not include that standard feature on release.
Additional saves slots after that are $20 each or $45 for a 3-pack bundle.
But still no master mode in TOTK
It’s on the overview video that released the same day as the direct

Cool?
This will work for the backwards compatibility?
Wow push the boat out. Nintendo are so lame. Like this is meant to be marketable and convince us? Everything they keep pushing as a bonus is just meh and not making me at all interested. I want to find a reason, but other than Nintendo exclusivity, there isn’t one.
It’s like they are so in their own world that they have not noticed the world has advanced and they are being rapidly left behind. While acting like they are somehow premium
waaaaaawwwww maaaannnn
“Now you’re cooking with gas!”
And DLCs or not ?
I don’t know why they only allow one in the first place, but this is a welcome addition if I want to jump back in.
What luxuries!
DROP THE PRICE! /s
Seriously though not a bad thing
Xenoblade Chronicles 2, a 2017 Switch game: Am I a joke to you?
I’m glad Xenoblade X finally made the jump from 1 to 3 saves lol
Yo but would this work for Animal Crossing? 👀
Oh boy! A save slot… gee willickers mister, how can I pass this up!
Nintendo is an interesting company.
Really lazy for nintendo to offer only a single save on a lot of there games, nobody ever had a save corrupted before? Like compared to other systems or pc its very bad.
A save at the end of Tears of the Kingdom is like 3MB. I really don’t know why they have this arbitrary limitation.
Groundbreaking upgrades !
Supreme leader Nintendo thank you for your generosity
Imma replay the shit out of them at 60fps 😍
Wow wonder if the Pokémon ones will be able to do this technology soon.
How much are they charging for it? Is it neccesary to pay every time I load the game?
Yes they did, on the direct. It was actually one of the first things they mention about it.

Oh, you spoil me.
TOTALLY WORTH THE PRICE INCREASE FOR A LAST GEN GAME. GUYS YOU GOTTA UNDERSTAND. IT COSTS A LOT OF MONEY TO DEVELOP A SECOND SAVE SLOT. IT’S JUST A BUSINESS DECISION.
Having this cheap update behind switch 2 paywall is low af
THE FUTURE IS NOW, OLD MAN
One question that I do have regarding the Nintendo Switch 2 edition is whether it can be upgraded with the Zelda Tears of the Kingdom version 1.1.0.
I have never updated the game cuz of the dup glitches and I would not like to have to update it to the 1.2.1 to be able to upgrade it to the Nintendo Switch 2 edition…
So this is what we’re paying $80 for.
Me (with switch that only I play due to having no friends):
*Makes 8 Profiles thus having 8 save slots* “I am 4 parallel dimensions ahead of you.
Ohhhh, so THAT’S why they call it the Nintendo Switch 2 — it can hold 2 save slots! Very cool, thank you Reggie.
Wow,not like ocarina of time had THREE on n64
I just hope they change their mind about a TOTK master mode
I’m not sure why they went through the effort of letting you have 2 and only stopped at 2. Surely it wouldn’t have been that much harder to have a higher number than that.
Is a cookbook too much to ask for?
