With the new update, we now see Switch 2 games and upgrades on the same eshop as Switch 1 games. You can see them on the eshop right on the Switch, but it will tell you they're not supported. You can pre-order Switch 2 games and upgrades from the website eshop.
People wonder if the Switch 1 will still receive support with the Switch 2 coming. Some fear the servers will turn off. But the fact that the infrastructure is shared among the Switch 1 and Switch 2 means the Switch 1's support will be even longer! Since the online membership is the same, it means that online and the NSO apps will be supported on the Switch 1 for a long time.
We'll start seeing less new games for Switch. I'm sure someday the store will close. But now it won't happen till the Switch 2 stops being supported too. And with Wii downloads still working, I think we'll get a long life of support.
