After months and months of not seeing anything in stores– other than the occasional booster pack– I was lucky enough to grab a JT ETB and a Paldean Fates booster bundle! I haven't been able to open a single pack of JT for MSRP, and PF is probably my favorite set of the S/V era so this was wicked!
I decided to test my luck at a vending machine today before work, but it was unfortunately out of order. I decided to hit one of my big box stores that I hadn't searched yet, and I found some JT booster packs. There were a handful left, and just grabbed a couple because I wanted to leave some for others. I went to self-checkout, and glanced over to customer service and saw they had some JT ETBs and one Paldean Fates booster bundle! I was so excited to find the booster packs, let alone ETBs! I got the last bundle and just one ETB and put the booster packs away, because I wanted to make sure others get a chance at some product. A chill guy came up and also wanted just one ETB, and he was cheesin just as hard as I was.
The kind lady that checked me out asked me what all the fuss over Pokemon was about, and I explained that the boonk ass scalpers are buying up all the product just to try and turn a profit, leaving the people and kids that actually care about the hobby, out of luck. I explained how I've been into Pokemon for over 20 years, and the nostalgia and fun behind ripping packs. She was honestly surprised and kinda sad hearing the state of the hobby, and was genuinely happy that myself and the other guy were so stoked finding product in the wild.
I'm still on the hunt for a Prismatic ETB, but I'm so grateful I was able to find some product I've been searching for and that others will have the opportunity to rip as well!
