Had that happen when my battery barfed on my phone and I temporarily loaded the Pogo client on my iPad. Had the battery fixed but forgot to uninstall Pogo off the iPad when we headed off for a trip to Hawaii, took the phone but left the iPad at home plugged in to a dock. The ban happened about 3 days into the trip as I suspect my geo-location was constantly bouncing between the phone and the iPad 🙁
It's true that some people do get unfair bans or warnings but a random person saying their ''friend'' got a unfair ban is not proof it was unfair at all since they not watching to see what they did on their account.
No ban but they won't let me in the trainer club or live shop 😂
If Scopely were smart, they will unban all accounts and start fresh.
I got a 30 day ban i tried to appeal and they said read the TOS – which clearly states warning first, then 15 day, then 30 day. And yes my fault was used an IV checker overlay.

You can be banned for many reasons. Buying pokemon on eBay. Spoofing. Buying coin services from eBay. Buying coins, boxes,tickets etc in areas where it’s much cheaper than your home area. 3rd party apps for spoofing, getting caught red handed taking out a gym where there’s no one or houses or building or cars. Way fair too if your pushing fake pokestops or keep pushing for appeals constantly. Harassing others players constantly is another big one that should be banning many of the bullies/cheaters. Last but not least having multiple accounts is against the terms and services of the company. Now a small % may be a false ban, but If your getting banned chances are your doing something wrong.

ive been perma banned but my account had been reinstated, i think that was this year or late last year, there are lots of account using android got baned including mine

Recently someone in our community was banned for cheating. However it was linked to maliciously reporting people. We finally got evidence. Reported and they were banned in 24 hours.

In the list here you mention auto catchers, iv calculators, spoofing and rockers in the same sentence in a sense that these are legit things and you shouldn’t be banned for them? Either way I’m confused, auto catchers and if calcs in my head aren’t bad… but spoofing locations is like the worst thing you could do. So someone please clarify where I’ve been going wrong
