I wish they’d give us a new Star Fox. There is so much cool stuff they could do with that franchise

“The worst” seem to be pretty popular and profitable, lmao.

That website is pure click bait. They have zero integrity.

If they are the worst (I don’t necessarily agree with the list anyway), then it just goes to show how high a bar Nintendo set.

Star Fox’s biggest issue is that they keep trying to use the series as a testing ground for half-baked ideas and gimmicks, and no-one so far has had the heart (or the balls, I guess) to tell Miyamoto to fucking knock it off. Make it an arcade-y rail shooter like the first two and give folks lots of fun reasons to try new routes and replay old routes, and it’ll sell well enough to justify investing into it long-term. Hell, I think a game like Star Fox might well benefit from some modern roguelite elements, if they’ve absolutely got to shove a gimmick in there.
The rest of the series on the list, I just think there’s nothing more (or very little) for them in the short or long-term. Mario Party is still somehow coasting on all the good will the first four or five generated, Yoshi hasn’t had a good solo game since Yoshi’s Island and all their attempts to catch that lightning in a bottle a second time have failed spectacularly, Fire Emblem is on the precipice of IP fatigue and it doesn’t help that Smash destroyed a lot of good will for the IP while scaring away potential new buyers, and I think Kirby just needs a vacation for a while because Planet Robobot was the best game he’s had since Super Star and all the gimmicky spinoffs were miserable failures.
But anyway, that’s just my subjective take on it. I’m still waiting for a Smash Musou.

Well that was more click-baity than I expected. It did not even contain franchises that Nintendo gave up on themselves like Captain Rainbow, Chibi-Robo, Geist or Doshin the Giant. And then there also are niche franchises that still get releases like Project Zero (Fatal Frame), Advance Wars, F-Zero, Punch-Out (does ARMS count?)
