Nintendo Today shows off the ability to change Mouse Sensitivity

“Set the cursor speed to match your preference: High, Medium, or Low. Some games offer more detailed settings for the cursor speed.”

  1. Not making it a slider is certainly a… decision.

  2. TheAdamena

Giving three options instead of a slider is just classic Nintendo

  3. TheLimeyLemmon

Wonder what DPI we’re looking at for each of those settings.

  4. Sirlink360

Of course it’s Individual games that give more options.

    Like…probably a bar lmao XD

    Nintendo, never change

  5. badlyagingmillenial

I don’t understand Nintendo’s thought process. They seem to REALLY want to make everything as easy and convenient as possible – but they implement things horribly!

Why is this not a slider? It’s 2025.

  6. This dripfeed of news we’re going to find out at launch anyway from all the launch reviews…

Hopefully Nintendo will allow to change Mouse sensativity with just one button on the joycon instead of having to go through the homepage.

This may be an unpopular opinion, but I prefer this to a slider. Less messing about. And for people like me sometimes too many options can be really anxiety inducing. The likelihood of one of these options being just right is pretty high.

Now we’ll just need to wait for a few more days until somebody point out and complain that it cannot have mouse acceleration disabled.

Still waiting on the “Nintendo Today shows off where you can actually buy a Switch 2” post.

It’s like the people behind making the os have never touched one themselves.

    Omg game changer! 😱

    I’m so tired of Nintendo.

  13. DadooDragoon

It’s kinda funny that they’re pushing mouse controls as a new thing

Leave it to Nintendo to be 30 years behind

  14. willsanderson

Only Nintendo could show off a “new” feature that’s existed for 30+ years, and they still couldn’t get it right.

Honestly I love these little drip feed bits of information. Each one gets a little bit more time than normal to look at something that is a tiny moment you’ll spend maybe a few minutes ever in.

Saying that, I wish they’d release EVERYTHING now and follow up with detailed shorts.

  16. The_L3G10N

Does anyone know if we can attach our own mouse?

  17. Imposter_Syndrome345

I’m sure they’ll monetize it somehow

  18. Inb4 it has horrible acceleration and you can’t turn it off.

  19. Dr_Jirou_Takahashi

    Classic Nintendo!

3x options none of which show DPI

    and then this golden testicle

*May not apply to all software*

  20. BradleyEd03

That is gonna be put to ‘high’ the second mine arrives.

I hope this means there aren’t any forced mouse mode games. That wheelchair basketball game looks kinda fun, but I’d be hard pressed to be forced to use mouse mode. I don’t want to use a mouse when I’m sitting in my living room on my couch with no solid surface near me. And no I don’t want to use my damn legs as a mouse pad, that sounds dumb

  22. Probably a pipe dream but I hope they let us use USB mice at some point as well

  23. Jam-Master-Jay

I barely have to move my wrist on my PC so I hope I can get close to that sensitivity on the Switch 2. I also hope they have easily replaceable mouse skates as my glass mouse pad eats through them like sweet treats.

  24. bwoah07_gp2

Wow, this Mouse integration is the real deal. Too bad that it seems like it’s only down to these three settings, because I think most people would prefer having a slider to decide the sensitivity of the motion controls on the mouse.

  25. Still use the same OS.

Pirates are going to have an easy job.

  26. whatnowwproductions

Nah that’s so dumb. Games will probably have an internal slider as well fortunately. As someone who has played Osu it would actually be terrible. Metroid Prime 4 on default was actually great though.

  27. I totally get why people want more options (myself included), but complaining about the lack of them in a feature we didn’t even know the console would have feels like such a first world problem. The options might be 800/1600/3200 DPI, which should be more than enough for most people to feel comfortable. Don’t get me wrong—there are plenty of things wrong with this console, but this isn’t one of them.

  28. I can absolutely see the pros hating on lack of slider

  29. Ok-Comfortable-3174

This is the dryest news any company has ever posted weeks before a major release. WTF. where’s my new Zelda where’s my new Mario Nintendo WTF.

  30. I found it even more interesting that it is possible to completely turn off mouse mode on the joycons
