Past few days I have been trying to buy Pokemon cards for my little brother as a gift. Every day I've gone, they have been out of stock without fail or all stolen/replaced like seen above. Today, I went bright and early for the 10am restock at my local Walmart. Except it never came.
What I did see was a group of neckbeards hanging out in the kids' clothing aisle (yuck) waiting for the same restock. Up came a Walmart employee of equal stature, with a shopping cart full of cards. He starts divvying them out to what I can only assume were his friends without anyone paying for them. Is this some kind of scheme? I know scalpers are a thing, but unless they paid this guy beforehand for exclusive access or something, they just took the packs and immediately started opening them there and then.
What is going on?? Why do these people have to ruin a hobby for a kid? And more importantly, what can I do to get the store to look into this? Surely it's not approved or legal…
