Wait…this person paid $800 for a console that can’t do anything until launch!? He may as well have waited and paid less, lol.
Nackon
tldr version: Russian podcast hosts got Switch 2 from an illegitimate seller that sold it off a few weeks early. They think Nintendo can’t touch them because they have no jurisdiction in Russia. The console doesn’t work without day one patch. There, I saved you a click.

Weird how whenever the mods upload a clickbait article, it stays up.

Even if he wasn’t Russian, typically it’s the retailer that gets punished for breaking street date and not the person(s) that bought the product before release.
deedee2148
I honestly wouldn’t put it past Nintendo to try to get them arrested if they leave Russia.

Bruh imagine going on a world hero tour just because you obtained a switch 2 early. Lmao, dude is walking around the internet waving like the queen.
Calm down Russian man, you’re not a hero for letting someone shoot rope across your face.

These never end well. The guy better not use any platform that’s susceptible to copyright infringement for his podcast

With that said, has anyone else here gotten the preorders Nintendo members got offered to sign up to yet? Was told it was suppose to start back in the beginning of May.

Who cares if a guy in Russia manages to get one illegally early, its kinda how they woudl have to go about it, since sanctions. It is more that a website like Craptaku, known to promote Nintendo piracy openly, is using this for clickbait and views that is gross.

It’s a games console, everyone needs to chill the heck out a bit. The absolute adoration towards Nintendo needs to calm down, it’s a games console someone got a few days early. None of this matters.

Just brick all Russian consoles, problem magically solved.

Saying yoy’re not afraid of Nintendo implies being afraid of the Carebear stare, Big Bird dancing, a day with Elmo, or sleeping over at the big blue house owned by a bear.

I get the motivation to have it for content early. It’s easy hits on your stuff if you are one of the few to have the item but it’s really worthless clout because this time next week we will all have Switch 2s ourselves and content will be exploding with Switch 2 related stuff.
Ultimately these early videos show the boring interface that looks just like the one we already know will be dead videos by next week.

Does Nintendos legal team (AKA nintendo Ninjas) actually come to your door? I mean I just heard who the Nintendo ninjas are from a video so that actually made me curious.

ChatGPT on Russian jurisdiction (basically Nintendo pulled out cuz ukraine stuff which allowed these dudes to do whatever they want): Nintendo no longer maintains official operations or legal jurisdiction in Russia. In response to the Russian invasion of Ukraine, the company suspended shipments of hardware and software to Russia in March 2022 and subsequently shut down its Russian eShop in May 2023. This closure prevents Russian users from making new purchases or creating accounts, though they can still re-download previously purchased content .
As of June 2024, Nintendo of Europe AG formally removed its Russian subsidiary from the Unified State Register of Legal Entities, effectively ending its legal presence in the country . While some reports suggest that the former head of Nintendo Russia may be involved in importing Nintendo products through unofficial channels, these activities are not sanctioned by Nintendo and operate outside its control.
In summary, Nintendo has ceased official operations in Russia and does not exercise jurisdiction there. Any Nintendo-related activities currently occurring in Russia are unofficial and not authorized by the company.

Nobody should fear Nintendo anyway.

Is there some kind of quota amongst games journalists where they have to use that stupid fucking picture of Mario looking behind the curtain for every other article about Nintendo news?

[And why he’s not afraid of Nintendo](https://tenor.com/wLAP.gif)
First American politics then hazbin hotel and now this. Why do hackers who are or work with Russians have to ruin everything?
You wouldn’t download an unboxing video (I want to see it but can’t find it)
If connected online, I’m sure that Nintendo can start collecting telemetry and other from a device phoning home before launch day.
