hello, i am pretty sur that if you do a dyna battle while you are over the max particule, you can't collect but if you start the battle, the 800 particules will be remove from your daily total count but you won't get it.
this happened to me with Suicune, I had over 1600 particules, when you click on battle it's automatically collect the 800 but as you are at max particules, you don't get anything, then you have only 800 move to collect for the day and not 1600.
I might do one of each of the GMax released before GoFest. I really don't want to spend much in game resources before GoFest though. I'm going after as many Zacians and Zamazentas and possible. They will be useful since they will have adventure effects and can be used in max battles. Also any bad iv shinies will be great for lucky trades. I think Niantic/Scopley is trying to get us to spend all our coins before GoFest so we'll spend more money during.
For 7:09 Would it not be 960 particles collected because 8 times 120 is 960. Not 820.

I'm glad you mentioned 820 collection, because in a previous event I tried to maximize my particles, and hit the limit on my first collection. Now I know why! Thank you for covering how to optimize collection, and the other tips, of course!

So I don’t have those max pokemon except for a level 25 4* blissey with level 2 max spirit.
I do have Dmax Entei level 21.5 and Gmax Snorlax Level 40 are these good enough? The entei only has level 1 in attack and defence whereas Snorlax has level 2 in attack and defence and level 3 in Heal

Can someone explain how the max particles work? How could I get 2300 in a day if I can only hold 1500, and i can only gather 1600? I'm confused with the logic of it, and it seemed to be skipped over assuming people know why it works.
Step 1 : End Thursday with as low max particles as possible. Finish it all.
Step 2 : After 10am on Friday Walk TWICE & collect you max particle from your nearby tab (you should have 600 max particles at this point)
Step 3 : Collect max particles from power spots twice (this should bring you upto 2200 max particles give or take) at the end of Friday
Step 4 : Battle 2 Gmax Rillaboom
Step 5 : Repeat steps 2 & 3

I just did the math; the formula for 8 free max battles also works with 280 particles on Thursday (what I currently have) and only collecting 300 particles from walking on Friday.
Thursday: 280
Friday, 10AM: +300 +820 +820 =2,220
Saturday: 1st & 2nd Rillabooms (-1600) = 620,
+300 + 820 = 1740
3rd & 4th Rillabooms (-1600) = 140,
+820
5th Rillaboom (-800) = 160
Sunday: +300 +300 +820 = 1580
6th Rillaboom (-800) = 780,
+820 = 1600
7th & 8th Rillabooms (-1600) = 0
We had 20 dudes in there and we got wiped out clean.
