These water/psychic magikarp were unable to jump as high as their Kantonian counterparts, so they channel their dejection and sadness by evolving with low friendship into Requinobori, a very emotionally charged and resentful catfish who takes it out on everybody else

Cool! My only critique is the Magikarp looks different enough to be an entirely different Pokemon
I think my only issue is that it doesn’t really look like magikarp anymore, I’d love if the top bit on both was more shaped like the crown magikarp has
