In South America, there’s a bug called the titan beetle, which are huge and have long horns. The thought process for this design was that titan is what kaiju are called in English. The giant monsters that the Power Rangers fight are kaiju, so I decided to base this mon on the Rangers. I used to be a big Power Rangers fan when I was a kid, so this was a really fun mon to design. I made each stage reference the red ranger’s suit from different Power Rangers series. Braveetle is based on Samurai, Kouchampo is based on Pirates, and Sentaitan is based on Mighty Morphin’.
