Nintendo

Ten years later and this continues to be one of the more severely underrated Directs in the 2010s.

While SOME PEOPLE out there would bring this year down by some of the games that were revealed there, looking at a lot of you YouTubers out there, was a lot to enjoy from this E3 Direct, whether it be from the reveals to the puppet segments that started as a leeway to Star Fox Zero's reveal. One of many games from this year that I still feel like is woefully underrated and overhated to this day.

I still can't help but smile more when the Yoshi's Woolly World segment came up and that Emi Watanabe woman talked about how she essentially became the reason how the game got to how it looked. Seeing all those creations she made and how much she spoke with such passion for her work with that lovely smile on her face throughout… It really made for such a pleasant part in the Direct for many people. It really just add to this sort of natural feeling that was present throughout a lot of it that you just don't see much of in many of these recent Directs.

Annnd i can't really lie here at all.. I did kinda develop a crush on the woman in the process. And ten years later that still kinda resonates a bit every time I watch that part.😅

And of course there was Metroid Prime Federation Force. Man was this a wild one. I still remember how much backlash this ended up getting due to how long it was when we last had a Metroid game at that time and how much people downvoted the heck outta that game's trailer. It really made me feel sorry for the devs there, especially back when none of us knew that Blast Ball game was a part of it before it was that big surprise game during the Nintendo World Championships, which I'm surprised they hadn't brought back at all again and made more of a regular thing.

"As anyone transforms, be it a person or a company, it's good to reflect on where you've been to help guide where you go next." I don't know what it is about that particular statement Reggie put out there near the end of the Direct, but when it comes to all that had came after this Direct and all that happened afterwards, especially after Iwata's… unfortunate passing… it really gives off that impression of it really resonating to all that has occurred more and more. Not just for Nintendo, but for many of us as well. It kinda gives it something of a deep feeling to it all.
