I started collecting in April this year. I've been buying 3 packs every other week after getting paid to kind of reward myself a little while keeping on budget. This weekend I saw a sale on japanese booster boxes just under $100, so I decided to finally buy two boxes: Heat Wave Arena and Battle Partners. Had so much fun pulling the Reshiram, Furret and cute Misty's Psyduck! I also decided on buying my first graded slab since it was only $20.
Wanted to ask for your opinions because when I shared this with my friends who have been collecting a long time, they sort of lectured me saying that i should've bought only English boosters because the Reshiram would've sold more in English. As for the Eevee slab, they said I should invest only on PSA 10s. I just wanted to collect, I'm not in the mindset of selling these and parting with them but now, ever since yesterday's talk, I can't shake the feeling that I'm doing this hobby wrong.
