I mean, he’s no Chris Pratt but I guess it’s fine.

  2. Time_Substance_7829

non big celebs casting is such a good thing, might mean it’ll have a slightly more serious tone

  3. leyendadelflash

I’ve never heard of these actors, which is exactly what I wanted in casting

  4. Real_Sir_3655

I’m just glad there doesn’t need to be endless rage bait about the casting.

  5. Oh thank god now hopefully people stop complaining endlessly now.

  6. TheLoganDickinson

I figured they’d cast young people but dang I didn’t think they’d get an actual 16 year old to play Link.

  7. Given that Link is a teenager or child in all but two of the games, I was fairly certain that they wouldn’t cast a big name actor, as most big name actors are not teenagers or children.

  8. crazydavy

They look the part imo.. now who’s playing ganon??

  9. TheWaslijn

Looking at them, i could totally see these two as Link and Zelda. Good casting choices imo

  10. Dino_Spaceman

Good. Now I hope they create an original story and don’t try to recreate one of the games.

  11. Ambassador_of_Mercy

I am really happy they went with unknown actors for this, and I also like that Link is being played by a teenager. Now hopefully they give him minimal, if any, dialogue

You know something fire’s about to drop when you see “This is Miyamoto”

For those who don’t want to click, Zelda will be played by Bo Bragason and Link by Benjamin Evan Ainsworth.

Bragason is a British actress who was in Three Girls, Renegade Nell, and The Jetty.

Ainsworth is also British and was in The Haunting of Bly Manor, Son of a Critch, The Sandman, and was the voice of Pinocchio in Disney’s live-action version a few years back.

  14. Tough-Priority-4330

Interesting, they’re doing an inverse of Twilight Princess, with link being the brunette. Unless of course hair dye comes into play.

Link looks fine, but they really nailed Zelda.

  15. _mywifeleftme

I, personally, am devastated that Link will not be played by Jack Black

    > Zelda will be played by Bo Bragason, and Link by Benjamin Evan Ainsworth.

    >The casting was confirmed on social media today in a statement from Nintendo legend Shigeru Miyamoto, who said he was “very much looking forward” to seeing the pair in the series’ iconic lead roles.

    > “This is Miyamoto,” wrote Miyamoto. “I am pleased to announce that for the live-action film of The Legend of Zelda, Zelda will be played by Bo Bragason-san, and Link by Benjamin Evan Ainsworth-san. I am very much looking forward to seeing both of them on the big screen.

    > “The film is scheduled to be released in theaters on May 7, 2027. Thank you for your patience.”

    >Bragason, 21, previously appeared in Netflix fantasy adventure series Renegade Nell, as well as BBC crime drama adaptation The Jetty.

    >Ainsworth, aged just 16, previously appeared in Netflix horror series The Haunting of Bly Manor.

The pressure is high, but I bet their excitement is also high for the roles

  18. caristeej0

I’m so pleased they are relatively unknown, not just big names for the sake of it. Much more interested in this now!

  19. I hope they focus on a good story more than just a collection of endless nods and references to the games.

  20. DirtyHomelessWizard

Casting non-big names is a great start, I would love to know who is writing and directing. Most big commercial enterprises like this are allergic to most of the artistic risks that make a movie good

  21. That kid…. actually looks a lot like Link from Ocarina of Time too.

  22. a_phantom_limb

I’m kind of surprised that there’s a five-year age difference between them, but it’s an interesting choice.

  23. CDHmajora

I swear that kid better have a top quality “HIYAAAAH!” Or else we will never achieve true PEAK…

But I’m happy its not some megastars and we are giving some unknowns a chance instead 🙂 always makes the performances more unique than say… chris pratt using his regular speaking voice for one of the most famous fictional characters of all time…

  24. AtreyuBBB

I’m really happy with the casting for now. Let’s go!

  25. Ralupopun-Opinion

Will tingle be in any of the movies? Who will play him?

  26. RadiantHC

What’s with the push to make everything live action? Just make it animated

  27. Dipset_Mipset0489

I’m so happy didn’t cast some big celebrity.

  28. ItsMikeMeekins

glad they didnt pick the stupid Hunter Schafer fan cast, and went with a younger actress

  29. SoberScript

The fanboys will he mad if… Stfu. I’m just happy a movie is being made finally. I’m sure these two will be fantastic in their roles.

  30. deedee2148

Going with basically unknown actors is smart.

  31. Glad that they picked unknown actors. I wish them the best!

I still believe this should have been an animated movie tho

  32. Why is no one asking the real question. So where’s adult link?

  33. Im so happy they went with not very known actors. They both look great I hope they do a great job. They’re definitely younger then I thought but hey if the movie is a success and they do more of perfect

  34. superyoshiom

So basically what I’ve learned is whenever a DK game releases to expect giant unrelated Nintendo news on the same day.

  35. I can’t believe Nintendo isn’t cranking out an entire animated universe after the success of Mario.

  36. Janky_McSpaniels

I just hope the guy who plays link isn’t a plank of wood. Link always had a charm and kindness in his eyes

  37. TrickRoom92

So is Pedro Pascal going to be Epona or what

  38. MagnusBrickson

Attention Star Wars fans in the audience: Don’t fucking harass the cast of the movie if you don’t like it.
