Isn’t this the biggest month in Pokémon go history? WTF is going on?
Ho-Oh/Lugia, Zacian/Zamazenta again (CROWNED TOO?), Necrozma, fossil research day with 1/10 shiny odds, a new Gmax, Orgin Form raid day (Dialga, Palkia and Giritina origin), a rocket take over, The Pogo world championship, a shadow raid weekend, every single Gmax ever released coming back for 5 days, eternatus, a commday (that’s every month but still), and to top it all off a mega raid day. There is literally every box art legendary available this month except the ones from unova, hoenn, kalos, and paldea.
People will say it seems like too much, and I love all the content, but I’m curious about what this business strategy even is. Condensing almost ALL the main legendaries into one month is wild, there’s enough content here for pogo to stretch over 5 months of gameplay. Again, wtf is even happening

Dude if they bring lugia back I’ll shit myself. I NNEEDZZZ!!!
Gosh damn. You’re right
Literally, there were 3 events overlapping in a single day — it’s impossible to keep up with everything, especially if you’re F2P. This didn’t happen back in 2022 when I quit the game; now that I’m back, I just can’t keep up.
My guess is that they anticipate people taking a break from Go once the new Legends game comes out, so they want to maximize profits now.
Yall remember legendarys in research boxes
Pokémon go does a catch up event at the end of each year. This year’s catch up event is pretty awesome.
I will tell you I been play since 2016. Never took a day off. But these events are becoming too much. I don’t try to push myself too hard in this game but I play more for the community now more than anything
This is fantastic. I’d rather have too much content than the boring stuff of the past
All I know is I missed zacian and zamazenta. I’m ecstatic they are coming back this early, even if it is only 2 hours.
origin form is back??? When!?!?!!?
And here I am struggling to get a aerodactyl lol
Looking for some advice should I level this up to use as a healer for future dynamax battles to come or wait for a better one?

I’ve played a few live service games during handover periods. They always do this.
The leaving company essentially dumps everything they can into the game with no thought of the future, trying to get every last penny out of the game they can before they hand it over.
Really great for the fans though. Always great times to play. 🙂
Wait did they confirm that Origin Raid Day is going to be Palkia, Dialga, and Gira?
Not new g-max, it’s eternamax eternatus. But yeah, very full month, always has an event every day this month.
I think we just need to keep in mind it isn’t mandatory to play every single event. I usually try and get Pokemon when they’re first released so like the “Gigantamax battle days” i’ll totally try and go downtown to join a big group to get those and community days I schedule in advance with the wife to let her know I won’t be available for 3 hours that day but everything else you don’t really need to participate in. This is an awful lot of stuff to do though and I totally get the FOMO of missing out on some of it!
Not being able to catch Eternatus irks me beyond comprehension.
Pick what days to go through, dont burn yourselfs put honestly and go after what you really want the rest of the pokemon is candy and xp at this rate
I’ve been playing POGO since it’s inception, took a few years break and came back to it about 2 almost 3 years ago. I was very impressed with seeing there’s so much more to do but these last few months I’ve been playing less and less. Since they started doing go fest every month and the passes with the tiers I feel cheapens the experience. It’s not as enjoyable anymore, there’s literally too much going on.
Winter and fall are around the corner, probably a significant drop in play time and they want to capitalize on the summer.
“Literally every box art legendary is available, except for most of them”
But yeah, this is mad overwhelming
I’ll finally get my necrozma
This I very overwhelming to see as a new player (this week lol). Like, what can I possibly to do prepare to be able to participate in these raids and get my hands on strong meta legendaries?
when will these cowards add mega metagross, mega sharpedo, and/or mega camerupt?
Where’s my Goddamn Mega Metagross at?
So I wasted my money getting those extra raid passes for go fest?
Ngl I’m excited, august is my birthday month; seems like a gift from niantic
I just want a lileep or anorith 😅
GoFest / spend all your money part 2 is what that is
I remember when they first dropped Groudon and Kyogre, no announcement or news, they just appeared in raids in the middle of an event
Cool, I still needed Lugia for my Johto dex; although now that Honedge has been released in pokemon Go the Kalos dex can be completed so I’m slightly surprised we haven’t seen another raid event for Hawlucha; maybe during next season along with another run of Xerneas and Yveltal raids; maybe even a Zygarde raid day leading up to Legends ZA’s release.
Also not so much predictions but could we maybe get another release of Keldeo; either in raids or rerun the Mythical Blade special research considering it hasn’t been obtainable for new or returning players since December 2022. Besides Keldeo I’m only missing Volcarona for my Unova dex(400 candies for a pokemon only found from eggs is criminal).
What’s the deal with Eternatus? There’s a raid event but you can’t catch it?
I’m a little annoyed they’re doing a second round of Crowned Zacian/Zamazenta already but still no second chance at the Necrozma fusions.
Whats happening is Scopely is trying to get the return on their investment back asap. They spent over $3.5bil for the most profitable mobile game and a couple others. They’re going to do everything they can to get that money back so it’ll turn to profit. And that means getting players playing and spending money
It’s August, when Worlds is happening. Iirc every August has been pretty packed with events, and the fact that they decided to do a Go Fest finale event again this year has just made it more packed than it would normally be.
While we’re on the topic, I read somewhere that we’ll get an encounter with eternatus, but won’t be able to catch eternamax eternatus in raids. Can someone help me find a source on how we’ll be able to encounter Eternatus? I took a long break from Pokemon go and I want to get back into it for a little bit so I can catch them.
Honestly its way too much. This game feels like a job now and its losing the fun aspects. On top of the catch rates for starter Mons becoming total crap when they are the event type and raid/Max Mons getting harder and harder to catch. Im dont wanna give up one of the few things my family all enjoys together, but seeing my kids devastated and in tears from not catching what they worked so hard for really pisses me off as a parent. And dont start with the ‘raise tougher kids’. That’s utter billshite and just shows you need therapy.
The comments here really shows the addiction and FOMO of the players, holy moly.
More events should be a net positive. You get more choice and more interesting things happening on any given day.
Y’all speak like you have to min/max every event, and that its too much…. Enforce your own damn limits and don’t go so hard for every event. I don’t get why that is so hard to understand!
Do you want to go back to Kanto Re-re-re-re-discovered again?
