Also, some limits were mentioned:
• It will only be allowed for Best Friends Plus (unsure if it means best friends and lucky friends, or just lucky friends)

If they are going to make this a thing, then the trade screen needs to show if the Pokémon has things like a Special Background.
Easy to check when your standing next to someone, but not when they’re the other side of the world.

If I had to guess or speculate I’d say for lucky trinkets only.
That said even if it’s just for lucky friends that’d be awesome.

I know it’s probably going to be paid but would be great if it turns out free for lucky friends, maybe even put a cooldown like a week or something so you don’t end up trading with every lucky friend within a day lol

I am curious to see the cost and the market that might pop up because of it lol.
Foe eg- If someone is hunting for specific shiny using remote pass and 1 trade costs 1 remote pass they can easily go the trade + payment via ticket or something to trade buddy.
I remember seeing 200 coins somewhere so that still sways the odds in favor of trade rather than hunt shiny at even 1/10 rate.
High cost will mean the rural/f2p players getting shafted again which is stupid but so in line with Niantic lol.
I obviously hope the cost is reasonable.

If remote trading is gonna be added, then the trading system will need to be updated. This ancient system is long overdue for a rework, anyway.

ok jokes aside i never thought this would come because of the whole devaluing-regionals thing, but even outside of trading upwards of 17k, 18k km or however large earth is, i can still find value in being able to trade with my mom without having to fix GPS drift every 3rd trade
oh and also please give me mass trading so i don’t have to sit there mindlessly tapping for 90 minutes every day. even 10 at a time is far better than doing them all individually.

I just want to get those regionals I’m missing from my Pokédex. I don’t care about IV’s for them, I’ll settle for any 1* trash just to finish the dex. Tropius, Relicanth, and Torkoal have continued to elude me for so long that I’d gladly give away a spare legendary for one.

I think this should be for BFF and possible lucky friends too. I have a few people who I only see at GoFest who used to be local but have moved. We don’t see each other much but we are very active in the game (gifts, raids, etc) so putting a high bar on it is A-OK with me. Mostly some of us travel a lot and getting the regionals when we get together is a big part of our connection.

I hate feeling like the hermit introvert here, but I hope we also get a toggle setting like with the lucky trinket where we can turn remote trade offers on and off. My friends list is full of randoms from apps like PokeGenie who stuck around until best friends level that I may or may not be able to coordinate with over campfire. I could totally see either getting swamped with trade requests or just going through the process of purging my friends list. Since deleting friends in bulk isn’t possible yet like gifting… Yeah that’s gonna take a bit if I have to resort to purges.

I wonder if the datamined extra tasks for possible level 60 are related to this remote trade? You and your friend have to, idk, do X battles together, do X raids, X max battles, etc, to reach this Best Friends Plus level?

Nah, it’s follow a path to trade with Mateo, but you have 4 research items to complete:
* Catch 25 weather-boosted Pokémon
* Feed 25 Nanabs to fighting Pokémon
* Transfer 25 3-star shadow Pokémon
* Tap the screen for no reason 2500 times

I think this will break the game but I guess we’ll see. I can definitely say that I hope it doesn’t come. Or that it’s an increased distanced but not global. Like 50 KM or something.

Is anyone talking about a chat feature within the game? Outside of campfire so you can discuss your trade with your friend if they don’t use campfire? I see this great for regionals so long as you can make your needs known in someway.
