TIL they are already selling the Switch 2 dock separately.
How is it the different throwback controllers prices are so wildly different? And why is NES the most expensive?
Was planning on snagging an OLED Switch 1 at a discount after they launched the Switch 2. Guess I don’t need one.
I don’t have the energy to read these comments. I’m guessing there’s a whole lot of people who don’t really understand how business works and think Nintendo should somehow ignore macroeconomic conditions. They’re probably a lot angrier at Nintendo than they are at their boss who hasn’t given them a raise in 5 years.
I was thinking of getting an OLED model so I could have the TV output, but the hell with these price increases on 7 year old hardware. Maybe if I can find a used unit I’ll consider that.
Thanks spray tan man!
$79.99 games in Canada are now $84.99
What is a Switch half????
They’re for sure going to raise the price of the Switch 2 after the holidays
Should specify this is USD.
North America is a continent which consists of 23 countries and over 20 unique currencies.
Watched the price of the Switch Lite in my Target cart last night jump from $200 and $230. Regret not picking it up even knowing it was gonna raise in price. Brutal stuff. Guess I’m searching FB Marketplace
Holy shit. When you lay it out like this, it really is wild. I guess I was lucky to get switch products years ago but also when retailers were expecting dead stock and the upcoming switch. Like I got the switch pro controller for $50 from Target with a switch controller coupon, and the switch for $100 less. I haven’t seen deals or coupons like that for at least a year

I have been through many rounds of inflation in my life but this is the first time tariffs targeting Japanese products resulted in higher gaming prices. Thanks Trump
Gamecube controller went up, too.
Switch 1/2
So is this good for us who didn’t sell their OLED? Lol can sell it second hand for more now right
nintendo speedrunning market calapse.
Back in my day console prices went down when the successor system was released.
/old man rant
I’m done. I love my switch 1. But I’m not giving Nintendo any money for the foreseeable future. I’m sticking to my Steam Deck. I’ll keep my OLED switch and enjoy the games I own. But I’m done.
Edit – The fact that I got so much attention means I got under some people’s skin. Which is good there should be some pushback against a corporation being shitty. It’s healthy too put your foot down. Everyone should remember that Nintendo switch online prices went up too. I don’t think this is entirely due to taxes or tariffs. I think they’re using it as an excuse to make a little more money. That’s just my opinion though. Thanks everyone.
Actually crazy how close the price of Switch especially OLED and Switch 2 are now.
No, other countries don’t pay tariffs. Yes, it’s passed onto the consumer.
If you cant grasp 5th grade concepts maybe you stay home on election day.
Someone going to start slapping those “Trump Did this ->” stickers on these at stores?
Hope you’re all enjoying your winning.
Does this boost trade-in values? lol
Gaming companies make the majority of their money from game sales, both through the initial purchase of games and through additional content like DLC and expansions. While some companies, like Nintendo, may make a profit on hardware sales, others, like Sony and Microsoft, often sell consoles at a loss initially, relying on revenue from game sales, subscriptions, and other services to recoup costs and generate profits.Besides exclusives Nintendo doesn’t have 💩
for games on Switch 1 because it’s so
underpowered compared to Xbox x/s and Playstation 4/5. I’m surprised this didn’t happen years ago.
P. S. plus the game devs are fucking horrible nowadays and Nintendo consoles have been modded/pirated to hell. I remember Dreamcast.
Nice down votes must be all the worthless pirates getting their panties in a bunch 😆
So glad I bought my switch 2 and GameCube controller when I did. Thanks trump /s
Politics affect everything. This is why you vote in elections, dudes.
So this is pretty much going to kill accessory sales?
Good thing I bought all my accessories already I guess
If you voted for Trump, a genuine heavy and heartfelt fuck you.
Isn’t this the second price increase on switch 2 accessories? (With the first happening before launch)
Jesus.
All they’re doing is pushing sales towards cheap Chinese alternatives
Have fun with your orange man tarriffs..
Imagine consoles getting more expensive 4 years after launch. Ffs the world is cooked now.
I panicked for about 10 seconds and then found out Switch 1 controllers pair with this thing just fine. Prices going up aren’t great, especially because it benefits no consumers at all. I feel bad for people who “need” this stuff new, like people who are just now entering the Nintendo ecosystem.
8bitdo still makes $30-40 controllers that do pretty much everything and are more ergonomic than the pack-in joycon mount.
Switch online increasing in Canada is interesting. Wonder if it’s worth picking up an extra year to try to beat the increase if it happens to other countries
Tariffic
The dock is already $65 overpriced.
