Hey all, Yesterday I opened a Pokémon victini figure resin statue but I feel like I have been scammed and I was hoping for some feedback on the situation I will leave images and details below.
I purchased a victini figure in early May for $150USD (advertised images attached below).
In late May the company said they would send the figure next week. About 10 days later I enquired about a snorlax figure I was interested in and they said both would arrive by the 5th of July and they would ship them together. The snorlax was offered for $140USD but I found cheaper prices elsewhere where so I got it down to $120USD. They then told me they were posting it on the 23rd of June. On the 3rd of July I received the tracking number and it turns out they shipped it via ocean despite the previous conversation. I received the package on the 8th of August but didn’t open it till Yesterday because I know how delicate these figures can be and I wanted to take my time.
The snorlax figure was fine although it was missing a finger but the victini looked nothing like the advertised images in quality, detail or material, the parts barely fit together and it feels cheaply made and feels no where near the quality of a $150 product. I sent a photo of the victini to the company I bought it from and they messaged the supplier who said the quality inspection was not done well before it was shipped. They offered a new body for Victini but when I told them I want a refund they said I would have to pay the shipping back to China (keep in mind I saved them money by allowing both snorlax and Victini to be shipped together). The company I’m contacting even said “I think it’s too small and expensive”. But I would need to pay for the shipping back to China if the refund is required.
I think it is unfair that I have to pay for the shipping back to China just to maybe receive a refund for a figure the company admitted is overpriced and the supplier failed to complete a quality check for such a expensive item.
Am I able to open a PayPal dispute if so what are the odds of getting my money back? Are there any other options?
