Ekans and Arbok are Snake and Kobra spelled backwards. Abra kadabra alakazam. Something a magician would say. Hitmonchan and Hitmonlee are based on Jackie Chan and Bruce Lee. Ditto. Means like same. Thats just a few i can think of in the 151, but you get the idea

A for Articuno is the first letter of the alphabet.
M for Moltres is a middle letter of the alphabet.
Z for Zapdos is the last letter of the alphabet.
Maybe a coincidence, but still cool!
