I can’t think of any other reason why Mew is in a bubble on the card, if it’s not a reference to the First Pokémon Movie from the late 90’s where Mew is in a bubble until the Final battle at the end of the film… I only ask because my friend works at a school where all the students LOVE Pokémon – however when he asked the students about the new and popular card ~ none of them even mentioned that the movie exists… a lot of them theorized Mew was just in a bubble because the bubble was some sort of force field… But NONE of them mentioned the Movie… I feel old.
