I’d need to see the fight against Radahn to really make up my mind

i was planning on picking this up since i started on series x years ago, got pretty far but never finished it before giving away my copy. i know not to expect series x performance out of the NS2 but i am hoping it turns out okay. it was rough around the edges but still pretty enjoyable on xbox one.

One of the big complaints that other person had was that the controls on Switch 2 were different from what he was used to on PS5. That made me not pay much mind to the rest of his opinion. And although this video is taken from far away, it still looks like the game runs perfectly adequately. Maybe the console he used was overheating or something, I don’t know. Something isn’t adding up about that last opinion video.

Uhhhh…..from this footage the game looks, perfectly fine?

This looks perfectly fine. Again, I’ll be reserving judgnent until hearing from more people after the game releases. But I have a strong suspicion that the hysteria is over nothing.

Seeing as I completed Mortal Shell on my Switch OLED, this is completely playable to me. I wish it were better ofc, but i feel better after seeing this

NL are good at not using sensationalism in regard to reviews and they said it was BAD when they saw it. Maybe they’ve improved it since then though?

This might be better than what people played at gamescom, but either way I’m still waiting on reviews for this.

It’s worth noting that the early area of Limgrave is not nearly as intensive as some of the other areas. I can imagine Liurnia dropping the frames quite a bit

This isn’t a “disaster.” It can be improved, yes… but it seems far from a disaster.

wonder how long the battery lasts playing this

  12. Even if it ran well I wouldn’t want to play a Souls game in handheld mode.

This “anti-hype” isn’t going to keep me from buying it. It will be fixed so it’s playable and I will play it.

I’m going to be real, it’s extremely hard to get a read on how well this is running while squinting to see the gameplay. We’ll just have to wait for release.

From Soft is ***not*** known for focusing on performance. It’s my biggest complaint about them despite the wonderful games they create.

‘Bad’ is relative.. I can play non-competitive games at 30 fps, but others crash out at less than 100 😂

With ACTUAL gameplay and not standing around in the entrance of the tomb…this seem THAT bad. Graphically we obviocusly can’t judge a zoomed out video, but the rest of the video is 60fps, so we’re getting a clear idea of what the frame rate is.

ITT: People declaring the game actually performs fine based on a 3 minute clip from the start of the game filmed with a poor quality video, rather than believing the people who have actually played it in real life

  18. brokenmessiah

It looks as good/bad as Elden Ring on Steam Deck

  19. StrangeLove92

I played elden ring on my series S so this looks more than playable for me

  20. Just wait till the game drops and you can actually watch it running in various areas and boss fights that will challenge it when spell effects start going off.

  21. Honestly a lot of people arnt going to play this title in hand held mode to my thoughts. Lots of games dont run very well on Switch 2 during hand held mode like Cyberpunk 2077 example. This is a game you play docked and docked only.

  22. Attainable

It doesn’t look as bad as the fake news articles seem to make it sound. As long as it is further improved by release, it’ll be fine IMHO.
