I’ve been waiting all day yesterday for Max battles I can do solo, so I check the local power spots every few moments, but I keep getting frustrated by the Max battle just suddenly changing. At 6pm sharp, I notice 2 Sableye at the power spots, not even 5 minutes earlier they were Lati@s. I set out. At 6:03, when I reach that first Sableye, it had turned into another Lati@s (first picture, the power spots in question is just out of frame, bottom right). So I set out to the other Sableye.
Sure enough, not even a minute later, the power spot can’t to Hateena.
So yeah, why should I bother getting to a Power spot when it can just pull a switcheroo on me. Plus, I just wasted a bunch of candy and dust preparing a team for a Sableye fight I didn’t have the chance to do.

The most frustrating thing is that Campfire is not accurately showing what’s at any of the spots, so I can’t plan a route to hit up some 1-stars unless they’re in active view to confirm what’s actually there.
yeah, same thing happened to me yesterday with gastly .. I just wanted my boy Gengar with a background
I noticed this happen at 9am for me. Because I was worried, looking at my 50/50 extra points not turning over at midnight. Or even 6am.
Edit: And it’s 11am here, and they still haven’t turned over. I’ve got limited spots, so I don’t know if they’ll reset if I do a max battle. I noticed my mon catching points turn over, though, so maybe they will.
Yes, when I gathered the people for a Latios there was no Latios, even the spot disappeared 💔
To my knowledge, what happened here is that you briefly saw the “default” Pokemon on that spot. Battles are supposed to rotate every few hours, not days like in your first picture.
Yeah I had one spot rotate from garb to zap, closed the app, reopened 4 min later, same spot was now a moltres
As someone who has done no d max except solo stuff, this is all very frustrating and confusing tbh.
At the boss switchover (which currently is happening every 3 hours) there’s anywhere from a few seconds to a full minute where the boss will show the “default” of that current power spot and how much time is left on the spot before it despawns entirely, then after that short time period it will change into the actual current boss. I always wait at least a minute before heading to a power spot once it changes over, just to make sure what’s there actually sticks.
They switch at 12 3 and 6 when you look on nearby it also shows when they end
even had spots just disappearing out of nowhere 1 of my mons is still in one of those
never seen a spot being there just for 1 day and less so stupid
one spot ive seen even had 4 days on it they cant be serious LUL
and if that wasnt enough the same spot came back inactive the next day probably with my mon in it i assume
